We are currently hiring for a Manager, Compliance to join our team. This role will be a Remote role but must be based within the United States. The Manager, compliance will provide continuing support to the Chief Compliance Officer to ensure adherence by all Team Members on healthcare compliance and reinforcement of the Company's compliance and training program in conformity with the Office of Inspector General (OIG) for an effective compliance program.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant federal and state healthcare laws, regulations, and industry codes.

  • Support the Chief Compliance Officer in drafting, updating, and implementing compliance policies and procedures.

  • Manage and lead compliance and privacy investigations, including root-cause analyses and corrective action plans.

  • Assist in managing risk-based healthcare compliance and privacy auditing programs to detect and remediate violations.

  • Support the enforcement of compliance standards through established, well-publicized, disciplinary guidelines.

  • Develop, implement, and manage compliance training initiatives for team members and relevant third parties.

  • Support open reporting channels, including monitoring and maintaining the compliance hotline.

  • Maintain the compliance channel on Akumin's intranet and draft internal communications regarding regulatory updates.

  • Provide occasional telephone support to patients reaching out directly to the compliance department for assistance.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience

  • A minimum of 7 years of compliance and privacy work experience in a healthcare environment with increasing levels of responsibility and leadership.

  • Healthcare Compliance, Health Information Management, or Legal field

  • Significant substantive experience working with federal and state healthcare or comparable regulations

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with proven ability to draft clear compliance policies, operational protocols, and collaborate effectively with team members, healthcare providers, and patients.

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and apply federal and state laws, healthcare regulations, legal documents, and Akumin's internal policies.

  • Proven track record of prioritizing multiple projects independently while exercising excellent judgement.

  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.

  • A team-oriented mindset, with the capability to manage and execute projects independently.

  • Travel is required between 0%-10% of the time.

Preferred:

  • Law Degree (JD)

  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or comparable certification
