While based out of the Baltimore-Metro Area, and in Deerfield Beach, FL, we have partnered on many projects up and down the east coast. MC designs over 400 projects each year ranging from residential homes and communities to office buildings, education facilities, medical facilities, and parking garages ranging in construction value of $200 thousand to $200 million. MC is currently seeking a Building Remediation Project Engineer/Inspector to join our Florida team. Both mid-level (3+ years) and experienced candidates are welcome to apply. Please email resumes, any sample work you wish to include to be considered.

Qualifications:
  • Work authorization (Required).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Civil or Architectural Engineering (Required).
  • Florida Licensed Building Inspector (Preferred if not PE).
  • Registered EIT, PE, Architect (RA) License (Preferred).
  • Florida Special Inspector (Full or Limited) (Preferred).

Required Skills:
  • Technical Skills and Tools:
    • Generally computer and internet savvy.
    • Preparation of weekly inspection reports using Autodesk Construction Cloud.
    • Ability to effectively work remotely from home office using Microsoft Teams and other software suites.
  • Construction and Remediation Expertise:
    • Management of construction administration phase of large remediation projects.
    • Inspection of small to large-sized concrete and waterproofing remediation projects.
    • Evaluating/diagnosing structural and waterproofing defects and problem-solving solutions.
    • Performing initial project condition surveys and quantitative repair take-offs.
    • Creative problem-solving.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Experience working directly with contractor staff.
    • Experience interacting with Condo Association boards and Owner Representatives during progress meetings.
  • Organizational and Teamwork Skills:
    • High-level team-player.
    • High-level organizational skills.
    • Ability to be flexible working on multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Balances independent working with keeping senior engineers well-informed.
    • Able to readily ask for help and feedback from senior engineers.

    • Completes weekly reports and tasks on-time.
    • Willingness to work overtime as requested to complete weekly tasks (paid hourly OT).

Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge in AutoCAD and/or Revit.

Job Type: Full-time.
Pay: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year (bi-weekly pay for 80 hours + hourly beyond 80 hours)

Schedule:
  • Standard day shift business/construction hours with occasional extended shifts (8 to 9 hours) based on project needs.
  • Approximately 80% of weekly time follows contractor construction schedules.
  • Monday to Friday with periodic weekend hours to complete office tasks.

Supplemental pay types:
  • Bonus pay (up to twice a year).
  • Hourly overtime pay.

Ability to commute/relocate:
  • Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work if necessary.
  • This role offers a hybrid work arrangement with a mix of remote work and office-based collaboration. Periodic check-ins to the Deerfield Beach office (weekly or bi-weekly) are required.

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Civil or Architectural Engineering (Required).

Preferred License/Certification Types:
  • Registered EI or PE License.
  • Florida Licensed Building Inspector (BN) (Preferred if not PE).
