Clinical Data Scientist (Data Analyst Level 3 - Digital Measures)

Alphanumeric is hiring a Clinical Data Scientist - Data Analyst Level 3 (Digital Measures) to support our client, a global pharmaceutical leader we've proudly partnered with for over 20 years. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of clinical research, data science, and digital health, helping transform wearable and sensor-generated data into meaningful clinical insights that support innovative therapies and improve patient outcomes.

Pay Range: $80.00 - $97.00/hour (W2)
Location: Research Triangle Park, NC area (Hybrid)
Employment Type: W2 Contract

About the Role:
As a Clinical Data Scientist supporting the Digital Measures team, you'll analyze complex clinical and sensor-derived datasets to help validate digital endpoints used in clinical trials. You'll develop reproducible analytical workflows, generate actionable insights, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance innovative measurement strategies that support drug development.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining clinical data, programming, statistical analysis, and data visualization to solve complex healthcare challenges.

What You'll Do:
  • Prepare, clean, and analyze digital biomarker and sensor-derived datasets for clinical research.
  • Develop reproducible analytical workflows, including data cleaning, transformation, quality control, and documentation.
  • Perform exploratory and statistical analyses to evaluate digital measures, including reliability, sensitivity to change, and other validation metrics.
  • Integrate wearable and sensor data with clinical and patient-reported outcome (PRO) datasets.
  • Create meaningful data visualizations, dashboards, and analytical summaries for scientific and business stakeholders.
  • Document analytical methodologies to support regulatory expectations and internal governance.
  • Partner with Digital Measures, Clinical Study, Data Engineering, and Patient-Centered Outcomes teams to support digital endpoint development.
  • Ensure data integrity, reproducibility, and high-quality analytical deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications:
  • Master's, or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong experience in data science, analytics, biostatistics, or clinical data analysis.
  • Experience working with longitudinal, clinical, or healthcare datasets
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or R.
  • Experience creating data visualizations and communicating analytical findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, reproducible research practices, and documentation standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Databricks.
  • Experience working with digital health technologies, wearable devices, or sensor-derived data.
  • Clinical trial or pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Understanding of digital endpoint development and measurement validation concepts such as reliability, validity, and responsiveness.
  • Familiarity with regulatory expectations related to endpoint development and clinical evidence generation.
