Become a Quality Control Senior Specialist in Vegetation Management at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll ensure the accuracy and reliability of remote sensing datasets and associated platform outputs. You’ll also lead data validation efforts, oversee priority reviews, and evaluate AI-driven outputs to support and produce clear annotation reports to support data integrity and decision-making. As a Quality Control Senior Specialist in Vegetation Management, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. Responsibilities
  • Performs in-depth analyses, approves, develops recommendations, and creates scripts, tools or models where appropriate to enhance data flow and analysis.
  • Leads data remediation efforts including analysis, quality control, and performs or coordinates the asset updates to ensure data is accurate and aligns with actual field conditions.
  • Identifies industry trends and maintains relationships with relevant stakeholders and provides consultative services on an as-needed basis to address complex GIS problems/issues.
  • Designs, develops and implements procedures to improve efficiency of operations and processes associated with mapping standards and GIS tools.
  • Utilizes geospatial software to process, analyze, and model geospatial data to improve processes and data quality.
  • Collaborates with internal/external business partners to evaluate impacts on departmental activities that rely on GIS data or processes.
  • Conducts land, regulatory, and related project searches, including identification of new data sources helping identify industry trends and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders.
  • Produces high-quality map products for presentations, meetings, public usage and departments, and creates key business maps and produces ad-hoc or on-off maps.
  • Provides functional direction, guidance, and training to staff members to ensure conformance to departmental standards and procedures.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Five or more years of experience in GIS and/or analyzing data.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in remote sensing, geospatial science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience using geospatial or remote sensing platforms.
  • Certification in GIS, quality assurance, or project management.
  • Experience developing or applying standard operating procedures for remote sensing geospatial data review.
  • Experience supporting technical audits, data quality reviews, or compliance-related activities.

Additional Information 
  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
