Job description

JPC Partners is looking for an QA Tester - Build & Quality (Builder) with MarTech (Marketing Technology) experience. The Tester will be responsible for configuring, building, and validating customer communications across supported channels (SMS, IVR, Email) based on documented specifications. This role owns build accuracy, internal Quality Assurance (QA), and functional validation to ensure all deliverables meet defined quality standards prior to client-facing User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Builders are accountable for executing builds exactly as specified, completing comprehensive internal QA, and producing clear, defensible test evidence. This role does not focus on requirements gathering or project management. Instead, it emphasizes disciplined execution, technical accuracy, proactive defect identification, and consistent adherence to QA standards that protect delivery timelines and reduce downstream rework.
Quality is the defining measure of success for this role. Work is not considered complete until it has been fully built, fully tested, peer-reviewed where required, and documented according to established standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Build Execution & Configuration
  • Configure and build customer communications across supported platforms and channels in strict accordance with documented specifications and approved solution designs.
  • Execute builds with a high degree of precision, ensuring correct logic, variable usage, conditional flows, language handling, and channel-specific behavior.
  • Validate that builds function as intended across all documented scenarios without relying on assumptions or undocumented logic.
Internal Quality Assurance (Primary Accountability)
  • Own internal QA for all assigned builds, including full functional testing of every documented workflow, path, keyword, variable, and supported language.
  • Develop and execute structured test plans that clearly demonstrate pass/fail outcomes rather than informal or subjective validation.
  • Ensure QA includes happy paths, edge cases, exception handling, and failure scenarios as appropriate to the build.
  • Partner with a second builder when required to perform peer QA validation, reinforcing the dual-layer QA model and eliminating singlepoint quality risk.
  • Validate fixes after defect remediation to confirm issues are fully resolved before progressing to UAT or release.
Defect Identification & Issue Ownership
  • Proactively identify build defects, configuration errors, or functional gaps during execution and QA.
  • Distinguish between build-related defects and specification-related issues, escalating specification gaps or ambiguities early to prevent rework.
  • Take ownership of build-caused defects through resolution, including correction, retesting, and documentation.
Documentation & Traceability
  • Document build outcomes, QA results, defects, and retest confirmations directly within delivery tickets to provide clear traceability.
  • Ensure testing evidence is sufficient to demonstrate that requirements were met and validated prior to UAT.
  • Maintain clear artifacts that support auditability, handoff clarity, and future supportability.
UAT & Release Support
  • Support client-facing UAT by resolving build-related issues quickly and accurately.
  • Validate that any UAT-driven changes are correctly implemented and fully tested before redeployment.
  • Partner with ICs, QA, and delivery stakeholders to ensure clean handoffs and predictable release readiness.
Standards Adherence & Continuous Improvement
  • Follow established SOPs, QA standards, and testing expectations consistently across all builds.
  • Participate in ongoing quality initiatives aimed at reducing defects, minimizing rework, and improving delivery predictability.
  • Surface recurring quality issues, build risks, or process gaps to leadership to support continuous improvement efforts.
Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to deliver accurate, errorfree work.
  • Proven ability to perform structured, methodical QA testing and clearly document results.
  • Comfortable executing work from written specifications and identifying gaps or inconsistencies without relying on assumptions.
  • Ability to reason through complex logic, workflows, and conditional behavior.
  • Strong written communication skills for documenting defects, test outcomes, and technical notes.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with peers in peerQA and shared ownership models.
  • Strong sense of accountability for quality, accuracy, and completeness of work.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in implementation, configuration, QA, or technical operations roles.
  • Demonstrated experience building and testing software-based workflows or communication systems.
  • Experience working in ticketbased delivery environments with documented processes.
  • Healthcare or regulated-industry experience preferred.
