Remote Puzzle Tester information

What is a remote puzzle tester?

Remote Puzzle Testers are individuals who work from home or outside a traditional office to evaluate and provide feedback on puzzles, games, or brainteasers before they are released to the public. Their role involves playing through various puzzles, identifying any errors or ambiguities, and assessing the overall quality and difficulty. They often communicate their findings to puzzle creators or game developers to help improve the final product. Remote Puzzle Testers need strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to clearly articulate their feedback. This job is commonly found in the gaming industry, educational content development, and puzzle publishing.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote puzzle tester?

To excel as a Remote Puzzle Tester, you need strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and familiarity with puzzle game mechanics, typically supported by experience in game testing or quality assurance. Proficiency with bug tracking systems, remote collaboration tools, and sometimes basic scripting or automation tools is often required. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and self-motivation are crucial soft skills for providing clear feedback and working independently. These skills ensure puzzles are engaging, error-free, and deliver a high-quality user experience in remote settings.

What are some common challenges faced by remote puzzle testers when working with development teams?

Remote puzzle testers often face challenges in maintaining clear communication with game designers and developers, especially when providing feedback on complex puzzle mechanics. Working across different time zones can lead to delays in resolving issues or clarifying requirements. To overcome these challenges, testers typically use collaborative tools and detailed documentation to ensure their findings are understood and tracked effectively. Building strong relationships with team members and regularly participating in virtual meetings also helps foster a productive remote work environment.

Job description

Who are we?
We at Movemedical make the world's best software solution for medical device companies.
We're hiring a Solution Consultant to join our implementation team. This is a client-facing, hands-on role where you'll own the process of turning a customer's real-world workflows into a working solution on the Movemedical platform - from the first discoveryconversation through go-live and beyond. You'll work closely with our customers, our engineering team, and the rest of the Solution Consulting team to make sure every implementation actually works the way the customer needs it to.
We hire smart, tenacious people and give them the mentorship and opportunities they need to grow as team members and leaders. Our development process is built for remote teams and facilitates communication and trust. As a small company with big ambitions, we see and recognize the impact of every person on our team.
We are team-oriented and want each other to be successful; we pull together to accomplish our goals. Glassdoor gives us a 4.3/5.0 and Inc. put us on its Best Places to Work Editor's List in 2019.
Who are you?
You're a problem-solver at heart - the kind of person who gets genuinely excited when a customer describes a messy, ambiguous workflow and asks, "can your product do this?" You like the puzzle: figuring out what the customer actually needs, how our platform can meet that need, and building the solution that makes it real.
You communicate clearly in both directions - you can sit with a customer and understand what they're asking for, and you can turn that into something a developer can build, then translate the result back into terms the customer understands. You're organized enough to keep multiple concurrent projects moving without losing track of what's next, and you stay level-headed when priorities shift or a project gets busy all at once.
You're naturally curious about technology - the kind of person who tinkers, picks up new tools quickly, and isn't intimidated by systems you haven't seen before. You use AI as a genuine productivity tool in your day-to-day work - this is an active, growing part of how our team operates - and you're always looking for smarter, faster ways to get things done without cutting corners on quality.
What will you do?
  • Lead discovery conversations with customers to understand their workflows, constraints, and goals, and translate that into a clear solution design

  • Advise customers on best practices for workflow design, data quality, and system usage

  • Act as the primary liaison between customers and our engineering team - translating business requirements into developer-ready tickets, and translating technical constraints back into terms the customer can act on

  • Configure Movemedical workflows, permissions, and system settings to match the agreed solution design

  • Investigate customer issues escalated from our Support team, determine whether something is a bug or expected behavior, and drive it to resolution

  • Write and organize implementation work in JIRA, sequencing dependent tasks and keeping multiple concurrent customer projects on track

  • Define and execute test plans to validate configurations, data accuracy, and integrations, and run live testing sessions with customers

  • Support go-live and the hypercare period that follows - typically one to two weeks, depending on the size of the deployment - before a clean handoff to Customer Success

  • Use SQL to investigate data issues and validate that configurations and integrations are behaving as expected

  • Support integration work with customer-owned ERP/CRM systems in partnership with engineering

  • Create and maintain solution documentation so decisions and configurations stay traceable after go-live

What skills and experience do we expect you to have?
  • 3+ years of customer-facing consulting, implementation, or solutions experience in a B2B SaaS or enterprise software environment

  • Genuine interest in solving ambiguous problems, with comfort handling shifting priorities and an uneven workload

  • Strong written and verbal communication - able to translate between non-technical customers and technical teams

  • Strong personal organization across multiple concurrent customer projects

  • Tech-savvy and curious, with real working comfort in SQL and basic API/integration concepts

  • Comfortable using AI tools daily, with the judgment to check their output rather than take it at face value

  • Willingness and ability to travel, including internationally, roughly 20-30%, concentrated around customer go-lives and discovery work

Nice-to-haves:
  • Experience with an ERP or CRM platform, especially SAP

  • Experience in healthcare, medtech, or another regulated industry

  • Familiarity with API testing tools like Postman

  • Based in Central or Eastern time zone - most of our clients are in these time zones, so it helps with meeting overlap. Pacific time candidates are very welcome too, as long as you're comfortable with occasional early-morning (6-7am local) meetings

What character traits do we value?
  • Hungry - we eagerly own problems and take on new challenges without being asked

  • Humble - we emphasize the team over self and seek collective success over individual status

  • Strong - we are self-aware, seek and accept feedback, and can engage in crucial conversations

Benefits and Perks
  • Amazing team - everyone at Movemedical is helpful and wants you to be successful

  • Grow with the company - as a member of a small, fast-growing startup, you will have many opportunities to level-up in your career

  • Opportunity to shape how our implementation process runs as we grow

  • Fully remote

  • Flexible PTO

  • Monthly snack stipend

  • Comprehensive benefits package

  • 401k matching

At Movemedical, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. The salary range is expected to be $65,000-$85,000 USD for this position and will vary based on your qualifications, job-related experience level, and assignment.
NOTE: Please be aware that while this position offers the flexibility of remote work, we are only considering applications from candidates who are located in the United States.
