Job description

The Solution Purchaser is responsible for leading end-to-end procurement activities across the project lifecycle-from tendering through execution-to drive competitive advantage, improve win rates, and maximize project margin.
This role plays a critical part in delivering cost-effective, high-quality solutions by sourcing strategic suppliers, managing risks, and ensuring seamless execution in a complex, matrixed project environment.
This role is located in Houston, TX and must report to our Houston Facility.
What will you do:
  • Partner with project and engineering teams from tender through execution
  • Shape sourcing strategies that improve win rates and margin performance
  • Translate customer requirements into smart procurement decisions
  • Identify and engage best-in-class suppliers globally
  • Lead RFQs and negotiations to deliver optimal cost, quality, and timing
  • Develop long-term supplier relationships that drive continuous improvement
  • Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Deliver cost savings and value creation opportunities
  • Ensure suppliers meet commitments on delivery, quality, and performance
  • Negotiate and manage supplier contracts aligned with project goals
  • Handle scope changes, claims, and commercial discussions with confidence
  • Ensure compliance and protect business interests
  • Manage the full Procure-to-Pay lifecycle from sourcing to payment
  • Track performance metrics and drive process improvements
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and digital procurement initiatives

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
    Experience working in project-based or solution-driven environments
  • Ability to analyze risks, solve problems, and make data-driven decisions
  • Familiarity with ERP tools (SAP, ECC)
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $86,400 - $129,600 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.
The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Schneider Electric also offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees, inclusive of medical (with member reward points), dental, vision, and basic life insurance, Benefit Bucks (credits to apply towards your benefits) flexible work arrangements, paid family leaves, 401(k) + match, well-being and recognition (including service anniversary) programs, 12 holidays per year, 15days of paid time off per year (pro-rated in the first year of employment based on start date), opportunity to purchase company stock (eligibility depends on start date), and military leave benefits.
