Job description

Overview
The Community Relations Specialist supports Northern Arizona Healthcare's mission of improving health and healing people by fostering positive relationships with community partners, local organizations and residents across the region. This role helps coordinate events, sponsorships and community engagement activities to build trust, increase visibility and demonstrate NAH's commitment to addressing social determinants of health.
Remote- Must reside in Verde Valley area, Arizona (Cottonwood, Sedona, Clarkdale, Jerome, Camp Verde)
Responsibilities
Community Engagement
• Support NAH participation in community boards, commissions and events by tracking engagement, preparing materials and ensuring follow-up.
• Assist in planning, logistics and promotion of NAH-sponsored or co-hosted health events, screenings and outreach activities.
• Staff NAH's presence at community events, including tabling, distributing materials and documenting community feedback.
Program Management
• Manage intake and coordination of sponsorship applications, ensuring compliance with guidelines and alignment with NAH priorities.
• Collect and organize feedback, stories and metrics for reporting and evaluation.
Communications
• Contribute to internal communications that highlight NAH's community involvement.
Compliance/Safety
* Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.
* Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.
* If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.
* Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, public health, or related field - Required
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in community relations, public affairs, nonprofit engagement or event coordination.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with comfort working with diverse stakeholders.
Organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
