Remote Psychological Operations information

What are remote psychological operations?

Remote psychological operations (PSYOP) are strategic efforts conducted from a distance, often utilizing digital platforms, to influence the emotions, motives, reasoning, or behavior of targeted individuals or groups. These operations leverage media such as social networks, websites, and other online communication tools to disseminate information, misinformation, or persuasive messages. The goal is to shape perceptions or actions in support of specific objectives, often in military, governmental, or organizational contexts. Remote PSYOPs are increasingly important in modern information warfare, requiring expertise in psychology, communication, and digital technology.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote psychological operations specialist?

To excel as a Remote Psychological Operations (PSYOP) Specialist, you need a background in psychology, communications, or international relations, along with specialized military training or equivalent experience in information operations. Familiarity with digital communication platforms, data analysis tools, and psychological warfare tactics is crucial, often supported by relevant certifications or military courses. Strong analytical thinking, cultural awareness, and persuasive communication skills set top performers apart in this field. These competencies are essential for effectively influencing target audiences, shaping perceptions, and achieving strategic objectives in dynamic and sensitive environments.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in remote psychological operations roles, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in Remote Psychological Operations often face challenges such as managing communication across different time zones, ensuring message consistency, and maintaining operational security in virtual environments. Additionally, building rapport and trust with team members and target audiences remotely can require extra effort and creativity. To address these challenges, it is important to leverage secure digital communication tools, establish clear protocols and feedback loops, and participate in regular virtual team meetings to foster collaboration and situational awareness.

Job description

We believe that mental health is just as important as physical health. We recognize that mental health issues can be complex and multifaceted, and we are dedicated to treating the whole person, not just the symptoms.

We aim to create a world where mental health is no longer stigmatized or marginalized, but rather is embraced as an integral part of one\'s overall well-being.

We believe that by providing quality care that is both evidence-based and compassionate, we can empower individuals to take charge of their mental health and achieve their full potential. We are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of those struggling with mental health issues and we strive to be a force for positive change in the field of mental healthcare.

Rula is a remote-first company. We currently hire in most U.S. states, with the exception of Hawaii.

About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Strategy & Operations Manager to help shape the next chapter of Rula\'s psychiatry business. In this highly cross-functional role, you\'ll partner closely with leaders across Clinical, Operations, Growth, Product, Finance, and Analytics to define long-term strategy, evaluate new business opportunities, and translate high-impact ideas into actionable pilots and scalable initiatives.

Some example projects may include: define the path to 5xโ€™ing the business over the next 3 years; research, scope, and pilot new service launches or business lines; deep-dive into patient and payor LTVs to improve the businesses unit economics.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys solving complex business problems, and is equally comfortable developing executive-level strategy as they are rolling up their sleeves to execute. You\'ll combine rigorous analytical thinking with strong operational instincts to influence key business decisions and drive initiatives that expand access to high-quality psychiatric care.

You\'ll join a collaborative, mission-driven team and have meaningful ownership over strategic initiatives that directly shape the future growth of Rula\'s psychiatry business.

Successful candidates typically bring a blend of experience from top-tier management consulting and strategy roles, with operations, product, or analytics experience within high-growth technology or healthcare companies. They are comfortable operating at every level, from framing ambiguous business problems and influencing executive stakeholders to building financial models, analyzing data, and leading cross-functional execution.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience across Management Consulting, Strategy & Operations, Business Operations, Corporate Strategy, or similar strategy and ops roles within high-growth startups or mid-sized companies.

  • Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets and Excel, including building complex financial models, leveraging advanced formulas, and analyzing large datasets.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategic objectives into scalable operating models, analytics, and cross-functional execution plans.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex topics and influence executive-level stakeholders.

  • Strong executive presence with experience partnering directly with senior leaders, facilitating alignment, and navigating challenging or ambiguous business decisions.

  • Proven ability to independently lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution.

Preferred Qualifications

While having the preferred qualifications enhances your candidacy, having all of them is not mandatory. We encourage all interested applicants to apply, even those who may not meet every preferred requirement.

  • Experience at a high-growth technology company, with healthcare or digital health experience preferred.

  • Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Looker) and working knowledge of SQL.

  • Experience leading annual planning, strategic planning, or company-wide operational planning processes.

  • Experience launching and scaling new products, services, business lines, or other 0โ†’1 initiatives.

  • Experience evaluating M&A, partnerships, adjacent markets, or other corporate development opportunities.

We\'re serious about your well-being! As part of our team, full-time employees receive:

  • 100% remote work environment: Working hours to support a healthy work-life balance, ensuring you can meet both professional and personal commitments (must be based in United States, currently not hiring in Hawaii)

  • Attractive pay and benefits: Full transparency of pay ranges regardless of where you live in the United States

  • Comprehensive health benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and FSA/HSA

  • 401(k) plan access: Start saving for your future

  • Generous time-off policies: Including 2 company-wide shutdown weeks each year for self-care (for most employees)

  • Paid parental leave: Available for all parents, including birthing, non-birthing, adopting, and fostering

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Supporting your mental and physical health

  • Quarterly department stipend: Fun team-building activities or in-person gatherings

  • Community and employee resource groups: Participate in groups that celebrate employee identity and lived experiences, fostering a sense of community and belonging for all

  • Home office stipend: New hire home office stipend & $50 monthly stipend to help cover internet or cell phone expenses

  • Wellness at Rula program: Year-round wellness initiatives and a $50/month wellness stipend

Our team

We believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental to our mission of making mental healthcare work for everyone.  We are dedicated to having a culture of inclusion that will support our employees in feeling safe, seen, heard, and valued.
