Remote Property Management information

What is remote property management?

Remote property management is the practice of overseeing and maintaining rental properties from a distance, without being physically present at the property location. This can be done using digital tools, such as property management software, virtual tours, and online communication platforms, to handle tasks like tenant screening, rent collection, maintenance coordination, and responding to tenant inquiries. Remote property managers often work with local vendors or on-site staff to address issues that require a physical presence. This approach enables landlords and property managers to efficiently manage properties in different locations, save time, and reduce the need for on-site visits.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote property manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Property Manager, you need strong organizational skills, knowledge of property management practices, and typically a background in real estate or property management certification. Familiarity with property management software (such as AppFolio or Buildium), virtual communication tools, and online payment systems is essential. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills help build trust with tenants and owners while efficiently handling issues from a distance. These abilities ensure smooth operations, tenant satisfaction, and effective oversight of properties without being physically on-site.

What are the main challenges faced by property managers working remotely, and how can they be addressed?

Remote property managers often face challenges such as coordinating maintenance or repairs from a distance, ensuring clear communication with tenants and contractors, and staying organized across multiple properties. Utilizing reliable property management software and digital communication tools can help streamline operations and maintain strong relationships with both tenants and service providers. Regular virtual check-ins and clear protocols for handling emergencies are also crucial for effective remote management.

Remote Property Management involves overseeing multiple properties, handling maintenance, and tenant relations, often requiring a real estate license and property management certification. Remote Leasing Agents primarily focus on showing properties, tenant screening, and lease agreements. While both roles operate remotely within the real estate industry, property management covers broader responsibilities, whereas leasing agents concentrate on tenant acquisition. Understanding these differences helps job seekers identify the right remote role in real estate.

Job description

At Bim.com, we connect the people who build with the products they build with. Are you ready to join us as our newest US Sales Development Representative?
As an SDR, you will take the front seat in driving growth by identifying new business opportunities, engaging with prospects, and booking meetings that support our Account Executives in the US market. This role will focus on our business, BIMobject, a world-leading global marketplace for the construction industry that connects manufacturers with architects, engineers, and construction professionals. Within the SDR team, we thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment where curiosity, persistence, and experimentation drive success. We enjoy supporting one another, solving challenges, and working towards ambitious goals.
As our new Sales Development Representative, you will...
  • Open doors: Research and identify high-potential accounts in the US construction industry, and build tailored outbound sequences that get responses
  • Start conversations: Engage prospects through calls, email, and LinkedIn to generate qualified meetings for our Account Executives
  • Collaborate: Work closely with the sales team to sharpen, target, and optimise prospecting strategies
  • Own your pipeline: Maintain and update lead information in our CRM system (Salesforce)
  • Grow: Stay up to date with SaaS and industry trends relevant to the US construction industry

We believe that you ...
  • Have 1-2 years of experience in a Sales Development Representative role or similar
  • Are comfortable with tools like Outreach, ZoomInfo, Nooks dialling system, and Salesforce
  • Are an enthusiastic, relationship-focused communicator with resilience and drive
  • Are not afraid to pick up the phone or explore creative strategies to generate new leads
  • Have a post-secondary education in business, economics, sales, or equivalent.
  • Are fluent in English (native level)
  • Willingness to travel to events and trade shows on behalf of the company approximately 3-6 times per year

Extra awesome (or for you to learn)
  • Knowledge of the building or sustainability industry
  • Previous experience in a SaaS company.

✨ Don't fit every single box? We know that applying for a job can be intimidating and that experience comes in many forms. If this role looks like a great next step for you, please apply! We'd love to hear your story, even if you don't meet 100% of the criteria.
What we offer our employees
  • Benefits: For the US team we offer competitive employer covered health insurance including medical, dental and vision. We provide a 401 (k) match and a health savings account. For new employees, we offer 15 days of PTO, this increases with tenure and after 10 years employment a sabbatical. The OTE for this role is between 70 000 - 80 000 USD.
  • The core: A startup mentality within a stable global company, but small enough for everyone to have a voice in shaping our company's future (140+ employees). We live by our values: Raise it, Do it, Together.
  • Flexibility: This role is fully remote and requires the candidate to be based in the United States. While we're a distributed team, we value collaboration and connection - whether it's through virtual check-ins or the occasional team meetup. We trust you to create a work environment that suits you best. In addition, we do a yearly meet-up with the US team every year.
  • Growth: We invest in your development and encourage experimentation.
  • Inclusion: A diverse workplace where different perspectives drive innovation.

Why Bim.com? The building industry is a vital part of our society, but it needs to become smarter and greener. That's where we come in. Connecting the people who build and the products they build with. Enabling Property Owners, Designers, Contractors, Distributors, and Manufacturers to meet the industry's challenges. Together with us, you will make a difference - both for our customers and the planet.
Ready to join the journey? We can't wait to meet you!
