What are Remote Prop Designers?

Remote Prop Designers are creative professionals who design props for film, television, animation, theater, or video games while working from a location outside of the traditional studio or production environment. Their responsibilities include conceptualizing, illustrating, and drafting detailed designs of props that help bring stories and scenes to life. By working remotely, they collaborate with directors, production designers, and other team members using digital tools and communication platforms. This role requires strong artistic skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt designs based on feedback. Remote Prop Designers often use specialized software to create digital models or illustrations of their prop concepts.

How does a remote prop designer typically collaborate with art directors and animators during a project?

As a remote prop designer, you’ll frequently collaborate with art directors and animators through digital tools such as Slack, Zoom, and project management platforms like ShotGrid. Communication is key: you’ll join regular video meetings to review feedback, discuss design iterations, and ensure your props align with the overall visual style of the production. Sharing work-in-progress files and responding promptly to notes helps keep the creative process smooth. Despite working remotely, you’ll be part of a close-knit creative team, and proactive communication is essential for successful collaboration.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Prop Designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Prop Designer, you need strong skills in visual design, drawing, and 3D modeling, typically supported by a background in fine arts, animation, or industrial design. Familiarity with industry-standard software like Adobe Creative Suite, Blender, or Maya, as well as proficiency in digital collaboration tools, is essential. Attention to detail, creativity, and effective communication are vital soft skills for interpreting briefs and collaborating with remote teams. These abilities ensure the delivery of visually compelling and functional props that align with project goals and facilitate seamless teamwork across distances.

Job description

The Mission
You will be architecting partnerships that define the future of market data infrastructure for AI. Pyth Pro is institutional-grade market data designed for the next generation of buyers: AI companies, quant funds, and trading desks running AI-powered strategies.
Your role is to be the primary bridge between Pyth Pro and the US institutional AI market. You'll identify, pitch, and close partnerships with tier-1 AI firms, hedge funds and prop trading firms who need reliable, low-latency market data infrastructure.
You'll own both the supply side (onboarding market makers and data publishers who feed Pyth Pro) and the demand side (scaling adoption with institutional buyers who depend on Pyth Pro).
Location: San Francisco Remote
About Our Team and Your Role
We are a well-rounded team: half of us are tech whizzes, while the other half excel in building partnerships with institutional clients, prime brokers, and the global financial infrastructure community. Communication is key to our network-driven approach.
Remote Work: Our team is spread across the globe, from the US and South America to Europe and Asia. We are a digital-first organization where remote work is the norm.
Startup-level Speed: We thrive in the dynamic DeFi space and love adaptable problem solvers who are eager to meet the evolving needs of the market. We're scaling institutional adoption across EMEA, APAC, and now the US AI market.
Your Responsibilities
Build Supply (Market Makers & Data Publishers)
  • Identify and onboard 30+ tier-1 market makers and institutional data publishers to contribute high-quality data into the Pyth Pro network.
  • Structure partnerships, negotiate terms, manage relationships, and design incentive models that drive sustained ecosystem participation.Scale Demand (AI Firms & Institutional Buyers)
  • Build and manage a pipeline with AI companies, trading firms, hedge funds, and asset managers.
  • Run the full sales cycle from discovery through deal closure and implementation.
  • Close partnerships with buyers who require premium, low-latency data feeds.
  • Communicate both technical and economic value propositions to sophisticated institutional buyers.

Market Strategy & Ecosystem
  • Develop GTM playbooks and sales processes specific to the US institutional AI market.
  • Identify market gaps and competitive opportunities.
  • Represent Pyth Pro at key industry events.
  • Maintain a pulse on competitive landscape and institutional buyer behavior.

Who We're Looking For
Professional Background
  • 5-8 years selling enterprise data and infrastructure products at Databricks, Snowflake, Stripe, Figma, or similar companies
  • 2+ years building and managing relationships with institutional buyers (hedge funds, quant funds, prop trading firms)
  • Proven track record closing complex deals worth $1M-$5M+
  • Based in San Francisco

Core Competencies
  • Enterprise infrastructure sales and deal structuring
  • Deep understanding of institutional markets (how tier-1 buyers evaluate, procure, and integrate new infrastructure)
  • GTM experience scaling SaaS/Cloud products to institutional buyers
  • Ability to understand AI/ML workflows and institutional trading infrastructure quickly (learnable, but strong plus if you have it)
  • Relationship building at C-level with technical and business stakeholders

Mindset
  • Entrepreneurial operator comfortable building from zero in a new market
  • Hunger to establish yourself in the institutional AI ecosystem
  • Motivated by autonomy, ownership, and equity upside
  • Genuine interest in the intersection of AI, institutional finance, and decentralized infrastructure

About Pyth Pro
Institutional market data infrastructure for decentralized finance. Instead of relying on legacy data providers with vendor lock-in and latency constraints, Pyth connects institutional buyers directly to market maker data publishers on-chain.
The opportunity: AI firms need reliable market data. Institutional traders need better infrastructure. Pyth Pro is the answer.
