About this role:
The Global Strategic Accounts – Mission Critical Senior Project Executive provides senior executive oversight and leadership for a portfolio of mission-critical building automation projects and programs. Operating at a high level of leadership, this role owns portfolio-level financial performance and P&L accountability, establishes rigorous delivery standards and governance, and leads a high-performing team of project managers and execution staff. Serving as the senior escalation authority and strategic customer contact, this position ensures large-scale, complex projects are delivered in strict alignment with safety, quality, and commercial standards from project award through final turnover.
This is a remote role, with a strong preference for candidates located in the Midwest, with heavy travel expected throughout Indiana.

Key Responsibilities
Portfolio & Delivery Leadership:
  • Provide senior executive oversight for a portfolio of mission‑critical projects and/or programs, ensuring consistent execution from project award through turnover (initial assignment: Hubbard, TX).
  • Establish portfolio governance, delivery standards, and operating cadence (KPIs, reviews, risk registers), ensuring milestone integrity and recovery plans for at‑risk work.
  • Serve as the senior escalation authority for complex technical, commercial, resource, or schedule challenges impacting customer outcomes and business performance.
  • Ensure execution aligns with Carrier, Automated Logic, and customer requirements related to safety, quality, documentation, and turnover readiness.

Financial & Commercial Accountability:
  • Own portfolio‑level financial performance, including revenue, gross margin, cash flow, billing, and forecasting accuracy across multiple active projects.
  • Review and approve project/program budgets, cost‑to‑complete forecasts, and financial recovery plans; drive disciplined change management and claims strategy as needed.
  • Partner with Sales, Legal, and Operations to support pursuit strategies, contract reviews, risk assessments, and approval of major change orders and amendments.
  • Drive disciplined financial controls, policy compliance, and audit readiness, ensuring adherence to Carrier internal controls and reporting standards.

People Management & Organizational Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, Project Executives (where applicable), and supporting execution staff.
  • Establish clear expectations, accountability, and succession/development plans for direct reports; build a high‑performing leadership bench.
  • Own workforce planning, resource forecasting, and staffing strategies across the portfolio, balancing utilization, capability, and customer commitments.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Quality, Safety, & Risk Management:
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all HSE, OSHA, and Carrier safety requirements.
  • Oversee quality assurance and quality control practices across engineering, installation, and commissioning activities.
  • Identify systemic risks and recurring issues, driving corrective actions and standardization to prevent recurrence.
  • Support audits, partner quality initiatives, and lessons‑learned programs.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Act as the senior executive point of contact for strategic customers and key internal stakeholders.
  • Lead executive governance, quarterly business reviews, and portfolio performance discussions; ensure decisions, actions, and follow‑through are captured and closed.
  • Aligning customer expectations with delivery realities, proactively communicating risks, commercial impacts, and mitigation plans.
  • Represent Carrier and Automated Logic professionally in all internal and external engagements.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 8+ years of experience in Project Management, Operations, Portfolio Leadership and/or engineering within building automation, HVAC or controls.
  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Clean and valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% as required to support project sites and customer engagements.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in HVAC (Building Automation Controls), Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop managers and cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong financial acumen, including revenue and resource forecasting, margin management, billing, and cash flow oversight.
  • In‑depth knowledge of building automation systems, controls integration, commissioning processes, and lifecycle delivery.
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations, quality management systems, and Carrier/ALC operational processes.
  • Able to lead and motivate teams.
  • Problem-solving, planning, and project management skills.
  • Working knowledge of project financial reporting.
  • Deal with multiple challenges simultaneously.
