Maximus is hiring a Pursuit Project Manager to drive the successful execution of complex business development opportunities and RFP responses. This role is responsible for leading cross-functional pursuit teams, developing and managing integrated project plans, tracking milestones and risks, facilitating decision-making, and ensuring on-time delivery of critical pursuit activities. The ideal candidate is a strong project manager who thrives in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, excels at coordinating stakeholders across multiple functions, and leverages AI-enabled tools and automation to improve visibility, efficiency, and execution. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead pursuit teams to execute required actions and deliverables aligned to opportunity timelines and RFP requirements.
- Create and manage integrated project plans, milestone schedules, dependencies, decision checkpoints, and readiness calendars.
- Track action ownership, due dates, completion status, risks, issues, open decisions, and leadership follow-ups.
- Manage risk, issue, and action-item logs; escalate decisions and barriers with clear options, impacts, and recommended next steps.
- Coordinate and negotiate across operations, IT, pricing, HR, finance, proposal, sales, and other pursuit resources to maintain schedule adherence.
- Use approved AI-enabled tools and automation practices to streamline recurring status reporting, meeting-note synthesis, action-item extraction, and risk visibility.
- Mentor junior staff; review trackers, status updates, and governance materials for clarity, completeness, and follow-through.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study and 7+ years of relevant professional experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Program Requirements:
-Specialized experience needed: hands-on management of complex pursuits, proposals, implementations, or other deadline-driven projects with multiple workstreams, dependencies, governance routines, and executive visibility.
-Candidates should be advanced users of integrated project plans, milestone schedules, readiness trackers, RAID logs, action registers, decision logs, and executive status reporting.
-Must have strong cross-functional coordination experience across operations, IT, pricing, HR, finance, sales, proposal, SMEs, and leadership stakeholders.
-Must communicate clearly, escalate early, and use approved AI-enabled tools to streamline notes, action tracking, reporting, and risk visibility.
This position is fully remote and will require a home office.
