We have an exciting opportunity for a Tax Consultant! As a key part of our team, the Tax Consultant delivers integrated tax planning and advisory services to clients of Wealth Enhancement Group. This role partners closely with financial advisors and portfolio managers to develop tax-efficient strategies that support clients' holistic financial goals, ensuring compliance and further enhancing the firm's expertise in tax-related matters. This is a seasonal, full-time position from January to April 2027, with potential for part-time work after tax season.
This role is available as an On-site or Remote position.
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the hourly rate for this position is $38.00 to $50.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Primary Job Functions
Tax Preparation and Planning
  • Prepare and review proforma and finalized tax returns under the guidance of experienced tax professionals, for client types including individuals, trusts, estates, partnerships, and S & C corporations.
  • Assist in preparing amended tax returns.
  • Support the review and response process for tax notices.
  • Contribute to the development of tax projections.

Tax Compliance Support
  • Review and interpret federal, state, and local tax regulations relevant to client situations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns.
  • Assist clients with estimated tax payments, IRS correspondence, and audit support as needed.

Internal Collaboration
  • Serve as the in-house tax resource for advisors and investment professionals.
  • Participate in client meetings to explain tax implications of investment and planning decisions.
  • Contribute to internal training and development on tax-related topics.

Research and Strategy
  • Stay current on tax law changes and assess their impact on client strategies.
  • Develop and maintain tax planning tools, templates, and best practices.
  • Contribute to white papers, newsletters, and client education materials on tax topics.

Projects
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education/Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax planning and compliance, preferably in a wealth management or advisory setting
  • Strong knowledge of individual, trust, and small business taxation
  • Proficiency in tax software and financial planning tools
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills

WEG hires employees and makes decisions about their salary qualifications based on factors such as the role to be performed; educational and professional experience, qualifications, skills and credentials; tenure, cost-of-living and demand for the role in the applicable market. To comply with state, pay transparency laws, we must disclose the entire salary grade. The entire salary grade for those who are classified as this level is $57,750 - $126,000. However, the hourly rate bolded above ($38.00 to $50.00 per hour) is what we expect to pay as a starting range for this position.
