Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector is seeking an experienced Principal Project Management/Senior Principal Project Management to join our team of qualified individuals within our Program Management Office. This position will be located at Rapid City, SD. Please note this is an individual contributor role and is not a management/leadership opportunity.
Please note that this opportunity is contingent on program funding. Start dates are determined after funding confirmation.
The successful candidate is expected to be a highly motivated, resourceful, self-starter able to work collaboratively with internal and external teams in high-tempo environments. This position will be expected to assist with reviewing status of projects and budgets, resource planning, preparing for and facilitating meetings, and supporting various administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the program to accomplish a variety of precise, time-sensitive monthly deliverables, metrics, and presentations
  • Collaborate across functions to ensure all objectives are met
  • Assist with monitoring cost & schedule performance, support business management meetings and reporting to program leadership
  • Supports coordinating the efforts of SMT teams, including engineers, subcontracts administrators, supplier quality assurance representatives, logistics engineers, schedule planners, and cost/material planners
  • Earned value (EV) management of labor and material control accounts
  • Reporting earned value and supplier status to Program Managers, GSC managers, and IPT Management
  • Conducting or coordinating review of supplier documentation (e.g., technical evaluations of proposals, acceptance test procedures, cost and schedule reports, software version description documents)
  • Facilitate Risk, Issue and Opportunity management
  • Prepare conference/meeting presentation material (e.g., capture, collect, and compile data to create slides and other materials) for both internal and external audiences
  • Participate in contractual and technical meetings and engineering reviews, takes detailed notes to facilitate creation of detailed/technically complex reports
  • Captures and manages Action Items to completion and/or close
  • Implementation and use of tools/templates for monitoring project progress
  • Most assignments are complex and performed independently without appreciable direction; exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment

Basic Qualifications for Principal Project Management:
  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years' experience in project management OR Master's degree with 3 years' experience in project management
  • At least 2 years of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience working with and manipulating detail-oriented data
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company

Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal Project Management:
  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years' experience in project management OR Master's degree with 6 years' experience in project management
  • At least 4 years of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience working with and manipulating detail-oriented data
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company

Primary Level Salary Range: $77,000.00 - $115,600.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $96,200.00 - $144,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
