Location:
This position can be based at any of our US locations (Houston, TX; Waukesha, WI; Trenton, NJ) or be based remotely anywhere within the United States, with preference to the Southwest US Region.
Position Overview:
INNIO is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer for our Container Platform team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in working on projects and initiatives with a broad scope and a high impact to the business and possesses technical expertise on containerized solutions. This role contributes to the overall strategy and manages complex issues both within INNIO as well as with customers and suppliers. This role necessitates an assertive Senior Engineer with pronounced communication and leadership skills who is able to coordinate complex, cross-functional engineering projects and drive efficient solutions while balancing technical and strategic business goals. The Senior Engineering reports to the Head of Engineering - Container Platform.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Act as technical project lead for INNIO scope of supply on multiple large and complex containerized solutions projects. Projects can be customer projects, design order projects, sales projects or NTI / NPI projects.
  • Coordinate and document project-specific product specification and subsystem definition across all involved internal functions and external partners.
  • Manage changes to project requirements with Customers, Sales, Suppliers, Engineering teams, Service, Product Management, Sourcing and all other involved INNIO functions.
  • Organize and lead regular project meetings, track action items and drive resolution of technical challenges.
  • Facilitate application of new, non-established technical solutions as per project-specific requirements.
  • Own project milestone tracking and on-time project deliverables.
  • Prepare and conduct internal project reviews together with PMO and PLM.
  • Support Sourcing in localization projects & supply base initiatives to evaluate and validate alternative packaging suppliers by providing technical RFQ documents and participating in alignment calls and visits to potential new suppliers.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future.
  • Travel: Ability and willingness to travel frequently (>30%).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Experience in the relevant business, preferably in the reciprocating engine and/or containerized product solution industries. Additional experience with product development of containerized solutions a plus.
  • Experience in managing projects and initiatives with a broad scope and high impact on the business.
  • Strong technical skills are essential for this role. The candidate should be proficient in the latest engineering tools and methodologies relevant to containerized product development.
  • Leadership abilities and communication skills to manage and support a team of engineers and technical experts as well as external suppliers. This includes fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
