Title: Associate Project Engineer
Location: Remote
Hire Type: Contract to Hire (open to Direct Hire for the right candidate)
Salary: $38.00 - $54.50/hr

Sterling Engineering is looking for an Associate Project Engineer in the distribution space. This opportunity is remote from home.

Job Duties:
  • Support project-related tasks by assisting peers with design reviews
  • Lead scope review and project kick-off meetings as needed
  • Conduct peer reviews of calculations and cost estimates
  • Correspond with internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist with process refinement initiatives
  • Notify Project Engineers / Project Managers when appropriate
  • Apply working knowledge of engineering codes, standards, and client expectations
  • Perform intermediate CAD design corrections and updates
  • Identify changes in scope of work proactively
  • Support project critical path and task management
  • Follow standard operating procedures and ensure timely completion of assignments
  • Coordinate with permitting agencies
  • Complete assignments within allowable hours
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • Experience level equivalent to Senior Design Engineer capability preferred
  • Prior experience in the natural gas industry required
  • Strong technical comprehension and communication skills
  • Ability to manage schedules, priorities, and multiple tasks efficiently
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Software:
  • CAD experience required (intermediate design corrections)
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite preferred
  • Understanding of project critical path and task management tools
