Job description

Job Title: EMR Architect - Data
Department: Clinical Applications and Program Management
Location: Riedman Campus-Remote, primarily remote, with occasional on-site activities
Hours Per Week: 40
Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift, Monday to Friday (8.00 am - 4:00 pm)
POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a key role that participates in developing system integration requirements. This person should be well versed in a variety of computer systems and their integration options. Preferred applications are health care related. This role includes developing partnerships and working closely with business partners, IT system owners and project managers to clearly define the information structure, migration and system integration specifications for the projects through interviews, complex analysis, and data review and work flow with team members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure changes desired comply with over-all organization process design and direction.
  • Assist the customer in developing business requirements.
  • Develop/document systems requirements to address business requirements that consider/assess the impact across solution areas and other internal/external systems.
  • Understands workflows of operational areas supported.
  • Proactively suggests changes to the system for operational consideration.
  • Designs and implements future-state operational workflows by interacting with operational department representatives to analyze needs and translate these into system design.
  • Provides training and demonstrations, as required.
  • Effectively manages division of time between projects.
  • Successfully implements architectural designs with minimal unexpected or adverse operational impact.
  • Mentors to assure for proper testing and release management processes and procedures.
  • Presents possible solutions when reporting problems/issues.
  • Is available and approachable to peers for assistance.
  • Adequately maintains voicemail & outlook calendar.
  • Completes Project Dash accurately, timely, and consistently; including updates to change requests in Dash (or follows the relevant process for your team).
  • Develop and design logical and physical data models.
  • Ability to fully understand and develop solutions that are interoperable with other systems and the EMR.
  • Conduct interviews with users and subject matter experts to understand functional needs and imbed into a logical data model.
  • Review source systems and business publications to accurately capture new data requirements and integrate them into the logical data model (i.e. honor roll and gold stars).
  • Conduct data model reviews with developers, business analysts and subject matter experts to collaborate and gain consensus.
  • Keep the logical and physical models synchronized and understand how information translates between the two models.
  • Be an advocate for the practice of modeling in technology and communicate the benefits to the organization.
  • Work closely with the Interfaces team to assure interfaces are built for the long term.
  • Drive metadata documentation and make it available to those who depend upon it.
  • Participate in team and client meetings as requested, including the IS&T Architecture Committee.
  • Researches, analyzes and resolves problems and issues with minimal supervision and escalate issues, as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience working in Computer Science, Business or Engineering related field, preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience developing logical and physical data models, preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience generating database objects (i.e. tables, indexes, constraints, views, materialized views) using a modeling tool, preferred.
  • An in-depth understanding of programming and/or database management system concepts and methodology.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Epic Certification in Reporting modules.
