About the Role:
Join H R PUNDITS INC as a Jira Administrator and play a key role in enhancing our project management capabilities. In this dynamic position, you will ensure our Jira environment is optimized for team collaboration and efficiency.
Job Title: Jira Administrator (Automation, Scripting & Agentic AI)
Location: Remote (Candidate must be available in Mountain Time zone)
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Jira Platform Administration
     
    • Manage and evolve Jira Cloud configurations (projects, workflows, schemes, permissions, automation rules)
  •  
    • Ensure platform scalability, governance, and alignment with enterprise operating models
  •  
  • Workflow Design & Automation
     
    • Design and implement end-to-end workflows aligned to intake, triage, delivery, and reporting
  •  
    • Build advanced automations to reduce manual intervention and improve cycle time
  •  
  • Scripting & Integration
     
    • Develop and maintain scripts using tools such as:
       
      • ScriptRunner (Groovy)
    •  
      • REST APIs (Jira, GitHub, ServiceNow, etc.)
    •  

    • Enable integrations across toolchain (Jira ↔ GitHub, Jama, CRM, internal systems)
  •  
  • Agentic AI Enablement
     
    • Design and implement AI-assisted workflows and decision agents, including:
       
      • Intelligent triage assignment
    •  
      • Automated work classification and routing
    •  
      • Context-aware recommendations (priority, ownership, dependency mapping)
    •  

    • Partner with AI teams to operationalize agent-based automation within Jira workflows

Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience as a Jira Administrator (Cloud preferred)
  • Deep expertise in:
     
    • Workflow configuration, schemes, and permissions
  •  
    • Jira Automation / Automation for Jira
  •  
  • Strong scripting experience:
     
    • Groovy (ScriptRunner), Python, or similar
  •  
    • REST API integrations
  •  
  • Experience with toolchain integrations (e.g., GitHub, CI/CD systems)
  • Proven ability to manage multi-team / multi-org Jira environments
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience implementing AI-driven workflow automation
  • Familiarity with:
     
    • Agentic AI concepts (autonomous agents, orchestration frameworks, LLM integration)

    • Prompt engineering or AI workflow design

  • Exposure to:
