Sr Program Manager - Tech
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Program Manager to join the Office of the CISO (CISO)! This role specifically will lead strategic programs that will transform and optimize the enterprise. You will be responsible for program strategy, development, and execution of enterprise-wide initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program and project management with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex programs on time and within budget. The unique benefit and scope of this enterprise-wide role is the acceleration of delivering value at scale to realize F5's transformation efforts. This person has high emotional intelligence, strong critical-thinking, strength working cross-functionally, and an ability to influence and lead others to achieve program success.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Ensure that initiatives have clear outcomes, scope, success criteria, and alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Design, build and maintain an overall program execution plan and roadmap to support and implement activities related to people, process, and technology that span across multiple business functions.
  • Identify workstreams and monitor the execution of the program per scope, schedule, resourcing, and budget
  • Establish team structure for each workstream, providing direction to project leads and coordinators on various workstreams to manage scope, timelines, deliverables, and risks to the overall program
  • Create and monitor measures of success / KPIs for the program
  • Partner with Change Management to identify a change management strategy and plan to ensure business readiness, engagement, and adoption
  • Establish governance structure, handling any issues and proactively mitigating risks
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across various business units and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Serve as an escalation point on risks, issues, and decisions, course-correcting as needed
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders and leadership on program status, milestones, and key performance metrics.
  • Establish program rhythm of business - including communications, status reports, and readouts to stakeholders and leadership
  • Design and deliver executive-level presentations as needed
  • Bring an outstanding blend of business and technical acumen
  • Ensure the use of program management best practices, methodologies, and tools to enhance project execution efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of program and project management methodologies - waterfall, agile, kanban, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, program development, resource allocation, budget management, and risk assessment.
  • Proficiency in program management software and tools to facilitate efficient program planning, tracking, and reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence, and ability to develop effective partnerships across the company to engage, align, and gain stakeholder buy-in.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize information, solve problems, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across written, verbal, and presentation formats to all levels of the organization from team members to executives
  • Ability to give executive summaries to any level of leadership is key
  • Strong organization and time management skills to keep programs on track
  • Ability to manage effectively in fast paced environment with multiple deadlines and competing priorities
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of enterprise-level processes and the interplay between functions, particularly Product Management and Engineering, Customer Support, Customer Success, Sales, Marketing, Technology Services, Finance and Accounting.
  • Ability to think strategically and act tactically as needed and be willing to roll your sleeves up.
  • Has a learning mindset, keeps up on industry trends, research, and best practices.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • MBA or equivalent desired
  • PMP, PgMP, or other relevant project management certifications are highly desirable
  • 8+ years of experience in program management, with a proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex, high-impact projects at technology-based companies or within technical domains
  • Experience managing complex cybersecurity programs across cross-functional engineering and product organizations is strongly preferred

The annual base pay for this position is: $128,500.00 - $192,700.00
