Position Title: DIETETIC INTERNSHIP COORDINATOR

Reports To: National Director -Morrison Healthcare Internship

Salary: $75,000

Job Summary

Responsible for coordinating a designated cohort of the Morrison Healthcare Dietetic Internship, which is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition & Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics (AND) and adheres to the established ACEND standards. Duties include, but are not limited to, the coordination of an internship cohort, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation that is critical for program effectiveness, and assisting in ongoing accreditation. Provides recommendations and assists in the development and ongoing management of the online education experience for interns, preceptors, and internship requirements.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with National Director, Dietetic Internship on student recruitment, advisement, evaluation, and counseling; curriculum development and ongoing updates to curriculum for accreditation and program improvement; program communication and coordination; continuous internal and external program evaluation.

  • Coordinates with the National Director, Dietetic Internship on the development and updates of policies and procedures for effectively managing the Dietetic Internship (DI) and to ensure fair, equitable and considerate treatment of prospective and enrolled interns (such as program admission, retention, and completion policies).

  • Oversees required prerequisites for cohort’s interns to start internships such as verification of liability insurance, current immunization and health status, and background and drug checks per preceptor site requirements.

  • Oversees completion and maintenance of cohort’s intern and program records for DI accreditation.

  • Coordinates with National Director, ongoing changes and maintenance of the internship’s secure virtual learning system for interns, preceptor evaluations, and quality control reports of the program.

  • Coordinates with the National Director the organizational aspects of the program, including site selection and evaluation; preceptor and student recruitment; affiliation agreement maintenance; rotation schedule development and maintenance; teaching and advising students.

  • Collects data and assists with analysis of ongoing program evaluation and program outcomes.

  • Coordinates with the National Director, Dietetic Internship the selection of interns, internship orientation, interns’ schedules, training, productivity, and competency-based evaluation as evidenced by successful completion of internship, credentialing exam and job placement.

  • Communicates effectively and in a timely manner with all interns, preceptors, and committee members through conferences, individual consultation, and committee participation. This includes telephone, written, electronic, and virtual communication.

  • Complies with all policies and procedures of Morrison and Compass, as appropriate.

  • Projects and practices consistent ownership attributes, which provide a high level of customer service at all points of contact.

Qualifications

• Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with current CDR registration and state licensure as applicable.

• Master’s Degree preferred. One to two years of experience in the dietetics field is required.

Position and Travel time

• This is a remote position with occasional travel to supervised practice sites and to meetings and conferences. 10-20% of time
