BJC is hiring for an EHR Application I Analyst. This role is with Epic Security.   We are looking for applicants with healthcare background and Epic is preferred.   This is a remote position.

IS Security Services serves as an independent, objective catalyst for implementing effective and efficient controls to protect BJC HealthCare (BJC) information resources through collaboration with customers. We provide value to our customers and the organization by: Ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations; evaluating information system and application controls; educating BJC employees and other strategic partners on information systems security practices and concepts; acting as a resource on security controls for new and existing information systems and applications; recovering mission critical applications and data vital to the organization and strategic partners; investigating practices not in compliance with established BJC Information Services security policies and standards.

Role Purpose

Under regular direction, the EHR Application Analyst I provides build support for Epic & other Clinical applications as it relates to change requests, maintenance and project business demands. Responsible for configuring, documenting, testing, modifying, supporting and maintaining software applications. Builds collaborative relationships with hospital leadership, clinical department users, Technology and other corporate departments to facilitate usage and acceptance of the system. Provides solutions or resolves end-user system issues. Epic or applicable certifications will be required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in designing, verifying, documenting, amending and refactoring moderately complex software configurations for deployment. Applies agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result. Collaborates in reviews of work with others as appropriate.
  • Assists in the investigation and resolution of issues relating to applications. Follows agreed procedures to identify and resolve issues with applications. Uses application management software and tools to collect agreed performance statistics. Carries out agreed applications maintenance tasks.
  • Assists with the design of test cases and test scripts, mapping back to pre-determined criteria, recording and reporting test outcomes. Applies agreed standards to specify and perform manual and automated testing.
  • Assists in the evaluation of design options and prototypes to obtain user feedback on requirements of developing systems, products, services or devices. Checks systems, products, services or devices for adherence to applicable standards, guidelines, style guides, and legislation.
  • Provides first line investigation and gathers information to enable incident resolution and allocate incidents.
  • May be part of an after-hours on-call rotation.
