Job description

The Chicago office of Kaufman Dolowich, a full-service National Law firm with more than 250 attorneys across 16 offices and over 25 practice areas, is actively seeking an attorney to join our growing litigation team.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious attorney to gain hands-on experience handling sophisticated, high-exposure litigation matters while working alongside accomplished litigators in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities

  • Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution
  • Draft and respond to written discovery
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Prepare, draft, and argue motions
  • Participate in court appearances, status conferences, mediations, arbitrations, and other litigation proceedings
  • Develop case strategy and manage day-to-day litigation responsibilities
  • Communicate directly with clients, providing strategic counsel and regular case updates
  • Collaborate with attorneys across multiple offices and practice groups on complex and challenging matters
  • Assist with trial preparation and other high-stakes litigation activities

Qualifications

  • Admission to practice law in Illinois required
  • 3-8 years of defense litigation experience
  • Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational, case management, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to assume increasing responsibility

Preferred Experience

  • Insurance defense litigation
  • Experience handling depositions, motion practice, mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances
  • Experience managing matters independently

Base Salary Range: $140,000-$180,000
