What is a remote production assistant?

Remote Production Assistants are professionals who support the production process of media projects, such as television shows, films, or live events, while working from a location outside the traditional studio or set. They handle tasks like scheduling, coordinating communication, managing digital files, and assisting with logistics through online tools. Their role is essential in ensuring smooth operations, especially for productions with remote teams or virtual components. Strong organizational skills, familiarity with digital collaboration platforms, and adaptability are key for success in this position.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be a remote production assistant?

To thrive as a Remote Production Assistant, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience supporting production workflows, often accompanied by a relevant degree or prior assistant experience. Familiarity with cloud-based collaboration tools, video conferencing platforms, and project management software like Slack, Zoom, and Trello is typically required. Proactive communication, reliability, and the ability to problem-solve independently are standout soft skills in this remote role. These abilities ensure smooth coordination, efficient task management, and adaptability to dynamic production environments from a distance.

Job description

Established in 2004, we are a tech pioneer offering world-class adult entertainment and games on some of the internet's safest and most popular platforms. With the support of an international team of dynamic and collaborative innovators, we are on a mission to enable safe user experiences and empower our communities by celebrating diversity, inclusion, and expression - all while maintaining robust trust-and-safety protocols.

We embrace the best of both worlds! Local talent can thrive in our collaborative office space with the flexibility of a hybrid work environment, while remote team members play an integral role in shaping our dynamic culture from afar. We have offices in Montreal (Quebec), Austin (Texas) and Nicosia (Cyprus).

*A select number of positions require full-time in office attendance*

We're looking for a pragmatic and business-minded Sr. Legal Counsel to join our in-house legal team. In this role, you will partner with teams across the organization to provide practical legal guidance, support commercial initiatives, and help manage legal risk in a fast-moving technology environment. You'll work on a broad range of matters including commercial contracting, intellectual property, and regulatory issues while helping the business move forward with confidence. Experience with emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, and a strong understanding of internet law will be considered valuable assets.

What you'll be doing

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements across the organization, including services agreements, license agreements, NDAs, intercompany agreements, and corporate and related legal documentation.
  • Provide clear, practical legal advice to internal stakeholders on commercial, technology and intellectual property matters, including matters related to emerging technologies (e.g., artificial intelligence, machine learning) and internet law.
  • Support product, commercial, and strategic initiatives by identifying legal risks and proposing practical solutions.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare concise guidance on applicable laws, regulations and emerging legal issues.
  • Assist with discovery and due diligence in connection with litigation, audits, financing, and transactional matters.
  • Support intellectual property enforcement activities, including cease-and-desist letters and domain name dispute processes (e.g., UDRP or URS).
  • Monitor and advise on legal developments in the fields of artificial intelligence, data privacy, and internet law, to ensure compliance with evolving regulatory landscapes.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of contract templates, legal playbooks and internal processes.

What you'll need to be successful

Must haves

  • 5-8 years of legal experience, ideally in commercial, technology, or intellectual property law.
  • Member in good standing of the Quebec or Ontario Bar.
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly to business stakeholders.
  • Bilingual (French and English).
  • Demonstrated ability to handle concurrent matters while meeting tight deadlines
  • Proven track record working with diverse departments and operations teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Ability to coordinate with external counsel and manage legal matters across different time zones (North America/Europe).
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Nice to haves

  • Experience supporting common law jurisdictions.
  • Prior in-house experience in a global technology or digital company.
  • Experience advising on intellectual property or technology licensing matters.
  • Familiarity with legal issues relating to artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain, or other emerging technologies.
  • Experience advising on internet law, digital content regulation, or data privacy matters.
