You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Position will assist with management functions including data acquisition, standardization, integration and enrichment to support Optum Care analytics & infrastructure
  • Work with team members to document processes and procedures for data management functions that include data mapping and formatting
  • Act as a liaison between business, IT support and project management
  • Solve technical challenges using innovative approaches, use data to support business decisions and demonstrate collaborative and creative thinking
  • Support HCE data infrastructure development including AI enablement for processing efficiencies and data analytics
  • Work with business partners to define and document business and technical requirements for data and analytics projects, this includes documentation of data flows and data mapping from source systems into our new analytic platform
  • Coordinate with broader HCE team on data needs
  • Act as DA (Data Analyst) for Projects and data requests through assignment and tickets
  • Attend and participate in daily scrum team stand-ups 
  • Perform pre-production UAT and postproduction quality checks to ensure data integrity
  • Assist with implementation of quality assurance procedures to ensure accuracy of project data, results, and presentation materials
  • Perform quantitative analysis and data-driven investigations to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities 
  • Act as a BA to develop product enhancements 
  • Develop deep understanding of data and business processes related to Practice Management systems

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of experience in infrastructure management (Optum Preferred)
  • 5 years of experience in data management
  • 5 years of experience with SQL coding and query optimization 
  • 3 years of experience with Snowflake/Snowpark Cloud environment 
  • Experience working with star schema databases
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Health care experience
  • EHR experience
  • Python scripting experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
