What is a Remote Pro C Developer?

Remote Pro C Developers are experienced software engineers who specialize in the C programming language and work remotely, rather than in a traditional office setting. They design, develop, and maintain applications and systems written in C, often collaborating with distributed teams across different locations. Their responsibilities can include debugging code, optimizing performance, and integrating C code with other technologies. Working remotely allows these developers to contribute to projects from anywhere, providing flexibility for both employers and employees.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Pro C Developer, and why are they important?

To excel as a Remote Pro C Developer, you need advanced proficiency in C programming, strong problem-solving abilities, and a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, typically backed by a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, debugging tools, and knowledge of operating systems or embedded systems are commonly required. Job description

About the role and team

Leading at Uber means setting direction in motion, not waiting for perfect conditions. As a Sr Software Engineer, you will be a technical anchor for the foundational systems that move the world - from building the next generation of orchestration platforms to architecting the stacks that power our global applications. Our mission is to make transportation as reliable as running water, and we need technical powerhouses to build the dependable, high-performance foundation that supports that vision.

This is a role for a proven, large-scale systems thinker who thrives in high-stakes environments. You will navigate the "messy" reality of complex infrastructures spanning global data centers and multiple cloud providers, supporting a diverse variety of workloads. You'll need to make smart decisions with imperfect information and own the outcomes of global architectural choices. If you lead with clarity, build with heart, and are motivated by the challenge of peak efficiency at unparalleled scale - this is where you'll make your mark.

Rate of Pay:                 $232,000 to $284,000 per Year
You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits. More details can be found at the following link https://www.uber.com/careers/benefits.

What you'll do

  • Develop infrastructure for autonomous-vehicle telemetry and structured data ingestion at scale by applying knowledge of Intelligent Vehicles, 3D Robot Vision, Technology of Detection and Sensors, Signal Analysis and Processing, and Web and Database Technology.
  • Design and implement data pipelines and training workflows.
  • Build and maintain multi-modality retrieval and ranking systems.
  • Design, implement, and operate core platform services and APIs for autonomous-driving workloads.
  • Optimize retrieval and modeling pipelines.
  • Implement performance-critical backend components with numerical stability and throughput in distributed environments.
  • May telecommute.

Basic Qualifications

  • Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, and two years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
  • Position requires two years in:
    • Intelligent Vehicles, 3D Robot Vision, and Technology of Detection and Sensors;
    • Signal Analysis and Processing, and Web and Database Technology;
    • Pattern Recognition, Data Analysis, Probability and Statistics, and Deep Learning;
    • Multimedia Search and Recommendation, Algorithms and Data Structures, and Web Science & Engineering;
    • Software Architecture and Networking;
    • Algorithm Design and Linear Algebra;
    • C Programming Language and Advanced Mathematics;
    • Developing distributed systems or large-scale data platforms;
    • Building backend software in Python, C++, or Java.

Ready to Ride?
