Position Overview

The Wellness Support Center is actively seeking a dedicated and flexible Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our passionate team. This full-time, remote position offers a unique opportunity to support children facing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges through intensive in-home and community-based therapeutic services. The selected candidate will work closely with families to facilitate emotional healing and promote resilience, directly contributing to improved outcomes for our youth clients.

About the Organization

The Wellness Support Center is a committed provider of comprehensive youth and family support services tailored to caregivers of children and adolescents grappling with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our mission is to empower families by equipping them with the tools and resources necessary to foster healthy environments conducive to growth and well-being. We believe in a holistic approach, integrating various therapeutic methodologies and collaborative teamwork to achieve positive results.

Work Environment

This position is designed to be entirely remote, allowing for flexibility that accommodates both personal and professional obligations. As a licensed therapist at the Wellness Support Center, you will utilize our digital platforms to conduct therapy sessions, enabling you to connect meaningfully with families in the community while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Our supportive team culture emphasizes collaboration and open communication, ensuring that all staff members feel valued and engaged.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual therapy sessions in clients' homes or through secure online platforms, providing tailored therapeutic interventions that meet each child's specific needs.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions aimed at fostering social skills, anger management, and coping strategies to decrease high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behaviors (SIB) or physical aggression.
  • Assist caregivers in developing effective decision-making techniques to address and manage behavioral challenges within the home environment.
  • Collaborate consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals across disciplines to create a comprehensive support network for each youth and their family.
  • Ensure timely submission of all required documentation including treatment plans, progress notes, and updates, adhering to organizational standards and compliance requirements.
  • Actively participate in monthly team meetings to share insights, challenges, and recommendations for service improvement.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on children and teenagers aged 3 to 20 who are experiencing various developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Our clients often come from diverse backgrounds, each presenting unique circumstances and a distinct set of needs. A deep understanding of their experiences and the ability to provide culturally sensitive therapyโ€”especially for those who are Spanish or Portuguese speakingโ€”is vital in making lasting impacts on their lives.

Qualifications
  • Masterโ€™s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Active and unrestricted licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) credential.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, ideally during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with the potential for weekend flexibility.
  • Possession of a valid driverโ€™s license and access to a registered vehicle to facilitate home visits.
  • All candidates must successfully complete a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, prior to employment.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in providing positive behavioral support and interventions tailored to children and their specific needs.
  • Demonstrated prior experience working with youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic frameworks that prioritize strengths-based, family-centered approaches will set candidates apart.
Compensation and Benefits

The Wellness Support Center offers a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to this generous base salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the financial and personal well-being of our employees.

  • Dynamic and engaging work environment fostered by a community-focused team.
  • Ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and expertise.
  • Health coverage that includes medical, dental, and vision options.
  • Annual paid time off for vacations and personal needs.
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage to protect against unexpected circumstances.
  • 401K retirement plan to help you save and plan for your future.
Career Growth Opportunities

At the Wellness Support Center, we believe in nurturing talent and offering pathways for advancement within the organization. As a member of our team, you will have access to continuous training and professional development, enabling you to stay at the forefront of therapeutic practices and expand your career horizons.

Why Join Our Team

By becoming part of the Wellness Support Center, you will contribute to meaningful change in the lives of children and families facing challenging circumstances.
