Job description

At Cotality, we are driven by a single mission-to make the property industry faster, smarter, and more people-centric. Cotality is the trusted source for property intelligence, with unmatched precision, depth, breadth, and insights across the entire ecosystem. Our talented team of 5,000 employees globally uses our network, scale, connectivity and technology to drive the largest asset class in the world. Join us as we work toward our vision of fueling a thriving global property ecosystem and a more resilient society.

Cotality is committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive work culture that inspires innovation and bold thinking; it's a place where you can collaborate, feel valued, develop skills and directly impact the real estate economy. We know our people are our greatest asset. At Cotality, you can be yourself, lift people up and make an impact. By putting clients first and continuously innovating, we're working together to set the pace for unlocking new possibilities that better serve the property industry.

Job Description:

More About Cotality

We are not just a real estate tech company; we are an AI-Native enterprise. We use our scale and connectivity to unlock new possibilities for the property industry.

Cotality XD: Revolutionizing the Practice

The hybrid-remote Experience Design (XD) team at Cotality is responsible for every part of how a user interacts with our services. We don't just "make things pretty." We use a User-Centered Design and Development (UCD+D) strategy to solve the right challenges for our users. We call this Building the Right Thing.

In our world, Engineering and XD are deeply integrated. We are moving beyond traditional workflows to an AI-Native model. This means we build experiences for both human users and non-human users (AI agents). We value honesty, humility, and empathy. We like to laugh, but we always get the work done.

The Role: Principal, Experience Designer (AI Specialist)

As the Principal, AI Experience Designer, you will help drive the evolution of our product philosophy from static interactions into a world of agentic workflows and multimodal feedback loops. You will design the strategic logic that allows human-centered empathy to govern non-deterministic AI outputs. You will sit at the intersection of executive strategy and system architecture, bridging the gap between high-level business goals and the "logic-perfect" execution of intelligent interfaces.

You are an agent of change who understands that as we move toward an AI-driven future, the nuance of research synthesis and the precision of solution framing are what prevent a product from feeling "uncanny" or misaligned. You will work closely with business partners and engineering leaders to ensure our product roadmaps prioritize trust, transparency, and seamless human-AI collaboration. Your mission is to move our design process beyond traditional requirement-gathering into a paradigm of dynamic system design and industry-leading intelligence, ensuring our users remain the central focus of every automated workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Model a culture of humility and courage while maintaining rigorous communication and feedback loops.

  • Institutional Scaling: Build the foundational frameworks and libraries necessary to standardize AI design across the enterprise.

  • From Assets to Architectures: Shift the focus from static UI production to building autonomous, generative systems.

  • Adaptive Prototyping: Design and test interfaces that can handle probabilistic AI outputs and unpredictable user flows.

  • Multimodal Synthesis: Identify legacy friction points and replace them with streamlined, AI-driven solutions.

  • Logic Translation: Convert complex AI behaviors into artifacts for technical and business leads.

  • Cross-Functional Execution: Embed with product and engineering teams to co-author requirements and troubleshoot technical constraints in real-time, ensuring agentic workflows are both technically viable and optimized for high-fidelity user outcomes.

  • Outcome Focused: Partner with analysts to ensure workflows produce high-fidelity outcomes, not just completed tasks.

  • Multi-Entity UX: Design for an ecosystem where "users" include human operators, AI agents, and robotic interfaces.

  • Synthetic Research: Use agentic models and synthetic data to accelerate user testing and discover new optimization frontiers.

Job Qualifications:

  • Experience: 8+ years of professional experience in UX design, interaction design, or systems design, with a focus on large enterprise B2B or B2C solutions.

  • Radical Innovation: Challenge established design patterns by exploring the "art of the possible," utilizing predictive analysis and trend forecasting to move beyond incremental improvements toward transformative AI solutions.

  • AI First Mindset: Proven mastery in deploying Agentic AI to create research artifacts and drive actionable synthesis at scale as well as collaborating with Product and Engineering, you bridge the gap between AI + UI to pioneer accurate Design-to-Code workflows and intelligent automation.

  • AI Workflow Efficiency: Leverage AI to automate high-friction tasks, accelerating the design lifecycle while maintaining "logic-perfect" precision.

  • Tooling Expertise: Mastery of Figma and a natural curiosity for new, innovative tools that streamline the design-to-code process.

  • Technical Acumen: A solid understanding of how HTML, JavaScript, and CSS inform interaction decisions.

  • Design Excellence: Mastery of the principles of interface design, accessibility guidelines (WCAG), and inclusive design practices.

  • Communication: Strong ability to articulate design vision and defend decisions to business and technology leaders.

  • Education: A degree in design, HCI, engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Portfolio: A professional portfolio showing examples of leveraging AI to reduce redundant tasks and solving complex user problems.
