Job Description:

We are seeking an Pre-Sales Systems Engineer - SASE Security to support Global Major Accounts across the Mid-Atlantic region. This customer-facing role serves as a trusted technical advisor to some of HPE's largest enterprise customers, providing technical leadership throughout the sales cycle and helping organizations modernize their security architectures through HPE's cybersecurity portfolio.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in network security and cybersecurity technologies, experience supporting large enterprise customers, and the ability to engage technical teams, security leadership, and executive stakeholders. This role combines technical architecture, consultative selling, and strategic account engagement to drive successful business outcomes for customers and HPE.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical advisor for Global Major Accounts, partnering with customers to align cybersecurity strategies with business objectives.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions, solution design workshops, and security architecture discussions throughout the sales cycle.
  • Architect and position HPE cybersecurity solutions across SASE, SSE, SD-WAN, Zero Trust, Firewall, NAC, and cloud security environments.
  • Deliver executive-level presentations, technical demonstrations, and Proof of Concepts (POCs) that showcase the business and technical value of HPE's security portfolio.
  • Engage CISOs, security architects, network teams, and executive stakeholders in both strategic and technical discussions.
  • Develop end-to-end security solution architectures that address customer requirements, security initiatives, and digital transformation goals.
  • Guide customers through observability and threat detection integrations, including SIEM, SOAR, XDR, and OpenTelemetry frameworks.
  • Lead technical responses for RFPs, RFIs, security assessments, and complex customer evaluations.
  • Serve as the technical lead on large, complex enterprise opportunities, collaborating closely with Account Managers, channel partners, and cross-functional teams to drive successful business outcomes.
  • Position HPE security solutions against competitive offerings and articulate key differentiators within the cybersecurity market.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships across customer organizations and maintain a strong understanding of customer priorities, challenges, and security strategies.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams to provide customer feedback and influence future product roadmap development.
  • Maintain expertise in emerging cybersecurity, networking, cloud, and observability technologies while serving as a subject matter expert within the organization.
  • Support teammates and contribute technical leadership across the broader Systems Engineering organization.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in pre-sales engineering, systems engineering, cybersecurity, or related technical consulting roles.
  • Strong network security background with experience supporting enterprise customers and complex security environments.
  • Experience leading customer-facing technical engagements, including discovery sessions, solution design, demonstrations, and Proof of Concepts (POCs).
  • Experience engaging with technical and executive stakeholders, including security architects, CISOs, and business leaders.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and consultative selling skills.
  • Reside within the Mid-Atlantic region (PA, NJ, NY, MD, DC preferred); other Northeast locations may be considered.
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% throughout the assigned territory

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Global Major Accounts, Fortune 500, or other large enterprise customers.
  • Experience with SASE, SSE, Zero Trust, Firewall, NAC, SD-WAN, and cloud security solutions.
  • Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, SIEM, SOAR, XDR, and cloudNAC technologies.
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, GIAC, or equivalent security certifications.
