Power / Electrical Subject Matter Expert (1099)

Engagement Type Independent Contractor (1099) |

Location Remote with site assessment travel as task order requires

Rate $200 per hour (consultant direct rate)

1099 Engagement — Independent Contractor: This is an independent contractor (1099) engagement, not W-2 employment. Consultants execute a PSCG Master Independent Consultant Agreement for pre-qualification. Consultants set their own hours within defined deliverable deadlines, maintain their own equipment, and are free to work for other clients. No PSCG benefits apply; consultants manage their own taxes, insurance, and retirement.

ABOUT PSCG

Essential Healthcare Solutions LLC is supporting Pinnacle Solutions & Consulting Group (PSCG), an SBA-Certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in New Braunfels, Texas, in its search for motivated, solution-driven team players eager to embrace the responsibilities of working in a dynamic and professionally rewarding environment.

PSCG maintains senior power and electrical subject matter experts for per-task-order engagement supporting USACE Emergency Power Mission Assignments and related disaster response electrical infrastructure work. Target consultants include retired USACE 249th Prime Power veterans and senior utility operations personnel.

THE ENGAGEMENT

PSCG is looking for Power and Electrical SMEs for per-task-order engagement supporting federal disaster response task orders where temporary power, grid restoration, or utility coordination expertise is required.

TYPICAL SCOPE OF WORK

  • Advise PSCG and prime contractor teams on temporary emergency power scoping and operations.
  • Support USACE Emergency Power Mission Assignment coordination where the task order scope applies.
  • Conduct grid restoration damage assessments.
  • Advise on utility coordination for disaster recovery operations.
  • Support FEMA PA Category F (utilities) Project Worksheet development.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BSEE or equivalent; extensive field experience acceptable in lieu.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of power systems, utility operations, or military prime power experience.
  • Retired USACE 249th Prime Power veteran status acceptable in lieu of degree.
  • Active clients or portfolio demonstrating genuine independent contractor status.
  • U.S. Citizenship.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active Public Trust or Secret clearance.
  • Professional Engineer license in electrical engineering.
  • Prior FEMA Emergency Power Mission Assignment experience.
  • Pacific region utility operations experience.

    ENGAGEMENT TERMS

  • Engagement under PSCG Master Independent Consultant Agreement.
