Who You Are

You'll work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, developers, and other consultants to understand business requirements, develop reporting strategies, and deliver intuitive dashboards and analytics solutions.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can take ownership of a BI solution from requirements gathering through development, deployment, and ongoing optimization.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
  • Design and develop complex Power BI reports, dashboards, and data visualizations for enterprise clients.
  • Translate business requirements into effective reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Build and optimize data models using Power BI and related Microsoft technologies.
  • Develop complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs.
  • Use Power Query (M) for data transformation and preparation.
  • Connect Power BI to a variety of data sources, including SQL databases, APIs, SharePoint, Excel, and cloud-based sources.
  • Develop scalable and high-performing semantic models.
  • Implement Power BI security, including row-level security (RLS).
  • Optimize reports, queries, and data models for performance.
  • Manage Power BI workspaces, deployments, datasets, and refresh schedules.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and recommend appropriate reporting solutions.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and technical teams on data architecture and integration.
  • Support testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and ongoing enhancements.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced developers when needed.
  • Stay current with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric capabilities and recommend new technologies where appropriate.

What You Know (Qualifications)
  • 5+ years of experience developing business intelligence or data analytics solutions.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI.
  • Advanced proficiency with DAX.
  • Strong experience with Power Query/M.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, including star schemas, relationships, dimensions, and fact tables.
  • Experience working with SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience integrating Power BI with multiple data sources.
  • Experience with Power BI Service, including workspaces, deployment, refreshes, and security.
  • Experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS).
  • Strong understanding of BI development best practices and performance optimization.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts and data into clear business insights.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a broader consulting team.

Nice to Have
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, or Azure Data Lake.
  • Experience with Dataverse and Power Platform.
  • Experience integrating Power BI with Dynamics 365.
  • Experience with Power Automate.
  • Experience with APIs and custom data connectors.
  • Experience with enterprise data warehouses.
  • Experience working in a Microsoft consulting or professional services environment.
  • Microsoft certifications such as PL-300: Power BI Data Analyst or related certifications.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range $150,000 - $175,000 depending on experience
Benefits include:
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Professional Development budget
  • Company sponsored events
