Position Overview

Kiewit is seeking a highly structured and technically capable Senior Business Analyst to lead solution intake, requirements definition, and documentation governance across our enterprise data and analytics initiatives.

This role sits within the Digital project Execution (DPE) team and serves as the connective tissue between business stakeholders, project teams, Power BI developers, data engineers, and solution architects.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Drive structured intake processes
  • Decompose complex operational workflows into clear requirements
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications
  • Maintain disciplined documentation standards
  • Keep initiatives organized from concept through deployment
  • You will support analytics, data integration, reporting, and digital project delivery solutions across large-scale EPC programs.
District Overview

This position is within the Kiewit Technology Group, supporting Kiewit Nuclear Solutions. 

Location

This is a remote position that may require some travel. 

Responsibilities

Intake and Demand Management

  • Own and manage the structured intake process for analytics and data solution requests
  • Facilitate intake discussions with project managers, discipline leads, and executives
  • Clarify scope, objectives, constraints, risks, and success criteria
  • Identify dependencies across systems, teams, and data sources
  • Prioritize requests in collaboration with leadership

Requirements Engineering

  • Translate business needs into:
    • Functional requirements
    • Non-functional requirements (performance, security, governance)
    • Data requirements
    • Integration requirements
  • Decompose complex workflows into process diagrams and use cases
  • Define business rules and validation logic
  • Support backlog grooming and sprint planning with technical teams

Documentation and Governance

  • Develop and maintain:
    • Business Requirement Documents (BRDs)
    • Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS)
    • Process flow diagrams
    • Data mapping documentation
    • Technical design support documents
    • Decision logs and change tracking
  • Ensure documentation remains current through solution lifecycle
  • Establish and enforce documentation standards

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Work directly with:
    • Power BI developers
    • Data engineers
    • Digital Execution Managers (DEMs)
    • Product and Project Managers
    • Architecture teams
  • Validate that delivered solutions meet documented requirements
  • Support coordination and feedback consolidation
  • Track intake status, documentation status, and delivery progress
  • Maintain traceability between requirements and deployed solutions
  • Proactively identify gaps in business process or data definition
Qualifications

While this is not a hands-on development role, technical fluency is required.

Required qualifications

  • 7+ years in Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, or Technical BA roles
  • Proven experience writing clear, structured, and technically precise documentation
  • Experience with Azure DevOps required
  • Strong experience facilitating requirements workshops
  • Experience with EPC / construction industry workflows a must
  • Ability to deconstruct ambiguous requests into structured deliverables
  • Experience managing intake processes and tracking demand
  • Experience documenting functional requirements, technical designs, and data workflows.
  • Experience creating process maps (Visio, Lucidchart, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Strong version control and document management discipline
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Base Compensation: $136,000/yr - $142,000/yr
