Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role is perfect for a forward-thinking accounting professional with deep Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central expertise who thrives in complex, custom accounting environments and embraces AI-enhanced workflows. As a Senior Accountant, you will manage sophisticated AP/AR processes, drive process optimization, and serve as a key technical resource for our unique accounting requirements. Reports to the Vice President of Finance. This position is full-time, remote, salary, and exempt.

Requirements

Core Accounting & Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Operations

· Execute complex accounts payable and accounts receivable processes within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central environment

· Manage multi-entity, multi-dimensional accounting structures specific to TPA benefit administration

· Process high-volume transactions including premium collections, claim payments, and commission structures

· Maintain and reconcile complex general ledger accounts with multiple funding sources and client structures

· Ensure compliance with benefit plan accounting standards and fiduciary requirements specific to employee benefits TPAs

Process Innovation & Optimization

· Leverage AI tools to identify inefficiencies, automate routine tasks, and enhance accuracy in accounting workflows

· Design and implement process improvements using Business Central's advanced features and Microsoft Power Platform integration

· Collaborate with IT teams to optimize Business Central configurations for TPA-specific accounting needs

· Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce manual processes and increase data accuracy

 Advanced Financial Analysis & Reporting

· Prepare complex financial reports for benefit plan sponsors, insurance carriers, and internal stakeholders

· Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for operational improvements

· Support month-end and year-end close processes with emphasis on accuracy and efficiency

· Maintain detailed documentation of custom TPA accounting procedures and Business Central workflows

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Technology Integration

· Serve as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central subject matter expert for finance team and cross-functional projects

· Integrate accounting processes with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, Power Automate, Power BI, and other Microsoft technologies

· Collaborate with benefits administration teams to ensure accurate financial treatment of complex benefit structures

· Support system implementations, upgrades, and process automation initiatives

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)

· Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years in senior-level roles

· Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in organizations with similar complexity ($30M+ revenue, 350+ employees)

· Deep expertise in both AP and AR accounting processes within complex organizational structures

· TPA, insurance, or employee benefits industry experience strongly preferred

· Proven experience with multi-entity, multi-fund accounting and complex reconciliation processes

 Technical Expertise

· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central including setup, configuration, and advanced reporting

· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel with advanced functions, pivot tables, and data analysis

· Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power BI, Power Apps) is highly desirable

· Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM integration and data flow between systems

· AI tool proficiency including experience with AI-assisted data analysis, process automation, or accounting workflows
