Remote Postpartum information

What is a remote postpartum?

A remote postpartum job typically refers to a position that supports new mothers and families during the postpartum period, but is conducted virtually rather than in-person. These roles can include remote postpartum doulas, lactation consultants, mental health counselors, or care coordinators who provide guidance, education, and emotional support via phone, video calls, or online platforms. The goal is to help families navigate the challenges of the early weeks and months after childbirth, covering topics like newborn care, breastfeeding, maternal recovery, and emotional well-being. Remote postpartum professionals may also connect clients with local resources as needed.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a remote postpartum nurse?

To thrive as a Remote Postpartum Nurse, you need a nursing degree, active RN licensure, and strong knowledge of maternal and newborn care. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, secure communication tools, and electronic health records is typically required. Exceptional communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills enable effective support and guidance for new mothers and families remotely. These competencies are essential for delivering quality care, addressing concerns promptly, and ensuring positive health outcomes in a virtual environment.

How do remote postpartum professionals collaborate with healthcare teams to support new mothers?

Remote postpartum professionals often work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including lactation consultants, obstetricians, pediatricians, and mental health specialists. Collaboration is facilitated through secure telehealth platforms, shared digital records, and regular virtual meetings to ensure comprehensive care for new mothers and their infants. This structure enables prompt communication about patient needs, care plans, and follow-ups, while also allowing remote professionals to provide education and emotional support. Building strong relationships with other providers is key to delivering coordinated and high-quality postpartum care.

This full-time position offers the flexibility of a remote work setting, allowing you to connect with clients from the comfort of your own home or dedicated workspace. However, our outpatient office remains an essential hub of collaboration and resource-sharing among our mental health professionals. You will work alongside a team of qualified therapists in a supportive atmosphere that values professional development, teamwork, and innovative therapeutic practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify clients' mental health needs and concerns.
  • Develop and implement customized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based interventions suited to individual client goals.

  • Engage in ongoing professional development while collaborating with fellow practitioners to enhance the quality of care.
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain confidentiality in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on supporting women and their families during the perinatal and postpartum stages. This includes providing specialized care for conditions such as postpartum depression, anxiety, and trauma. Your work will be critical as you empower clients to navigate these challenges, fostering resilience, and promoting mental well-being for mothers and their families.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, with an active license in Colorado as one of the following: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Psychologist (PsyD).
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience providing therapy in a clinical setting.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with initiative while being an integral part of a collaborative team.
  • Deep understanding of trauma-informed care and evidence-based treatment strategies.
Preferred Experience

Experience working specifically with postpartum clients or understanding maternal mental health challenges will set you apart. Knowledge of community resources related to maternal and child health is also a valuable asset in this role.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, ranging from USD 80,000 to 104,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our benefits package includes comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, along with a flexible work schedule that promotes a healthy work-life balance.

We believe in investing in the personal and professional growth of our team members. You will have access to continuous professional development opportunities, including workshops, training programs, and support for further education. As part of our commitment to mental health advocacy, you will also engage in outreach and community initiatives, allowing you to make a meaningful impact outside of therapy sessions.
