Independence Therapy Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a focus on trauma-informed care. This position offers a remote work setting, allowing for flexibility while focusing on the therapeutic needs of our patients. The role is structured with a Monday to Friday work schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with potential adjustments based on client needs. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will be responsible for the following:

• Conducting comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to understand each patient’s trauma history and tailor effective treatment strategies.
• Developing and executing individualized treatment plans aimed at recovery from trauma and fostering resilience, employing both short and long-term therapeutic approaches.
• Utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including but not limited to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to support client healing.
• Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals, to provide integrated and holistic care.
• Offering crisis intervention and support for patients facing trauma-related emergencies, ensuring their immediate psychological safety.
• Educating patients and their families about trauma responses, coping strategies, and the resources available to assist their recovery journey.
• Maintaining accurate and confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring clear communication within the healthcare team.
• Participating in case consultations, team meetings, and continuous professional development focused on trauma-informed practices.
• Staying informed about advancements in trauma therapy and integrating these insights into practice to optimize patient outcomes.

The clients served at Independence Therapy Center encompass a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences, primarily focusing on individuals dealing with the aftermath of trauma. Our commitment to a trauma-informed approach ensures that we respect each client’s unique journey and support their healing in a manner that acknowledges and honors their experiences.

• Possession of a Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Georgia.
• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, particularly in trauma-focused treatment.
• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and evidenced trauma-informed treatment modalities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, coupled with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to therapy.
• Ability to remain composed in high-stakes situations, ensuring client safety and support.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and comfort with digital communication tools.
• Collaborative mindset, essential for working within a multidisciplinary team framework.

• Experience delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions, with a demonstrable understanding of resilience-building methodologies.
• Participation in ongoing clinical training and workshops related to trauma-informed care.
