Position Overview

The Independence Therapy Center is actively searching for a dedicated and licensed mental health therapist to join our trauma-focused practice as a full-time team member. In this role, you will provide vital mental health support to individuals grappling with the effects of trauma, using established therapeutic techniques to facilitate healing and recovery.

Work Environment

This position is entirely remote, enabling you to deliver care via telehealth to a diverse range of clients from the comfort of your home. Scheduled to work Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, you can expect some flexibility in your schedule to accommodate the varying needs of our patients. This remote setting ensures that our therapists can have a balanced work-life dynamic while still making a meaningful impact in their patients' lives.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed mental health assessments, carefully evaluating each patient's trauma history to formulate effective treatment strategies.
• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that prioritize trauma recovery and resilience, employing various therapeutic methodologies to suit individual client needs.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists and social workers, to ensure integrated care and optimal outcomes for all patients.
• Provide crisis intervention and immediate support during trauma-related emergencies, helping to de-escalate situations and provide ongoing guidance.
• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses, effective coping mechanisms, and available support resources to enhance their journey toward recovery.
• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring all patient records are accurately updated.
• Participate in regular case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities focused on trauma-informed care practices.
• Stay informed of the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to enhance your skills and client offerings continuously.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice primarily serves individuals who have experienced significant trauma, requiring specialized and sensitive therapeutic approaches to address their unique needs. By understanding the complexities of PTSD and related disorders, you will play a crucial role in guiding patients toward recovery, resilience, and a renewed sense of independence.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.
• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience, preferably in a clinical or trauma-focused environment.
• Strong expertise in trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.
• Proven history of delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions effectively.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with an empathetic, non-judgmental demeanor.
• Ability to stay composed and effective in fast-paced or high-pressure situations.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant computer applications.
• Capable of working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is required, candidates with additional experience in delivering specific trauma-informed therapies or working within a remote telehealth model will stand out. Familiarity with integrating innovative therapeutic modalities and keeping abreast of evolving best practices will be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this full-time position ranges between USD 90,000 and 110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:
