You will primarily work remotely, with opportunities to conduct therapy sessions in the comfort of the families’ homes or at our outpatient facility based in Galveston. Our team values open communication and collaboration, which is reinforced through regular meetings and support from fellow therapists and child family treatment teams.

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in-home or in-group settings at our outpatient center, tailoring approaches to meet the unique needs of each child or family.
• Facilitate anger management, coping strategies, and social skills development to mitigate high-risk behaviors, such as self-injury or physical aggression.
• Assist families in improving decision-making and conflict resolution skills to effectively manage in-home behavioral challenges.
• Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals, maintaining a consistent approach to support services.
• Document treatment plans, progress notes, and other required documentation in a timely manner to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss cases and share insights for improving service delivery and client outcomes.

Your primary focus will be on a diverse group of children aged 3-20, particularly those with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. This varied patient population often requires tailored therapeutic interventions that consider their unique circumstances. Your expertise will help to improve their emotional well-being and behavioral functioning, thereby enhancing the quality of life for both the children and their families.

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license in the state of Texas.
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours of 4 PM to 7 PM; weekend flexibility is a bonus.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

• Experience providing positive behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Prior experience working with children ages 3-20, specifically those with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
• Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is a significant advantage and will be valued in our diverse community.

The salary range for this position is competitive, offering between USD 60,000 and 80,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
