Job description

This is a virtual role open to candidates working from Oregon or Washington. While the position is primarily virtual, there may be occasions when onsite work is required at a designated Legacy Health location. 

All new hires are required to travel to a Legacy Health office in Portland, Oregon prior to their start date to complete a newhire health assessment and newhire paperwork. Initial training and orientation may be conducted onsite before transitioning to the remote schedule.

This position serves as a Senior Analyst in the Population Health division, overseeing the development, implementation, and ongoing utilization of a population health analytics solution and methodology. Responsible for analyzing health care data, such as estimating the need for health care services, evaluating and improving payment methodologies, estimating the impact of changes in delivery and payment systems, ensuring integration and coordination of various initiatives to ensure consistency where possible and measuring health care outcomes.

Responds to requests for complex data extraction and analytics, produces and interprets data summaries, reports, and dashboards, interfaces with internal and external customers, participates on and leads cross-functional project teams, supports various research projects within the Division, maintains subject matter expertise in select aspects of both health care claims and Electronic Health Record data and data systems, and participates in special projects as needed. Provides technical direction and consultation to management and staff and represents the Population Health division on planning teams charged with collection and dissemination of information related to the above activities. This position also serves as a lead for other Population Health Analysts, providing direction, mentoring, and project oversight.


Education:

Master’s degree in public health, health administration, business, or social sciences or related discipline.

 

Experience:

Minimum five years’ experience to include:

Data, statistical and quantitative analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, and fact-based management to drive decision making.  

Experience with Business Intelligence tools and platforms, such as Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.

Experience with relational databases, including SAS and/or SQL programming. Preferred experience in other languages, including Python and/or R.  

Experience working in health services research or health care policy.  

Experience working with health care data systems, such as claims data or electronic health records. 

Skills:

Comprehensive knowledge of business analytics

Project management and ability to execute highly complex or specialized projects

Strong communication skills, including technical and non-technical report writing, and oral presentation to both technical and non-technical audiences

Knowledge of federal, state, and local public health care programs, including coverage policy and purchasing strategies


USD $52.39 - USD $78.06 /Hr.
