About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated Sales Engineer to drive growth of Hexagon's articulated arm (Absolute Arm) solutions across Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio. This role combines technical expertise with consultative selling to support manufacturers in solving complex measurement and quality challenges.
You will work closely with customers in aerospace, defense, automotive, and advanced manufacturing to demonstrate how Hexagon's portable metrology solutions deliver measurable business value.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities

  • Own and grow sales of Hexagon's articulated arm solutions within the assigned multi-state territory
  • Develop and execute a strategic territory plan targeting key industries (aerospace, defense, automotive, industrial manufacturing, etc.)
  • Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities while expanding existing accounts
  • Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and hands-on evaluations (virtual and on-site)
  • Translate customer measurement challenges into tailored metrology solutions using Absolute Arm and 3D scanning technologies
  • Collaborate with application engineers and product specialists to design and propose solutions
  • Manage the full sales cycle including prospecting, quoting, negotiation, and closing
  • Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and CRM activity (Salesforce or equivalent)
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitive technologies, and Hexagon product advancements
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, or metrology-related roles
  • Strong understanding of portable metrology, articulated arms, CMMs, or 3D scanning technologies
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
  • Strong organizational and territory management skills
  • Willingness to travel throughout Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio (approximately 40-60%)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience with Hexagon Absolute Arm or similar portable measurement systems
  • Knowledge of manufacturing quality processes, GD&T, and inspection workflows
  • Experience in automotive, aerospace, or high-precision manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with metrology software (e.g., PC-DMIS, PolyWorks, or similar)
  • Established network within the Midwest manufacturing ecosystem
