The Boyle and Grozinger laboratories in the Department of Entomology at The Pennsylvania State University invite applications for a Non-Tenure Line Assistant Research Professor to lead research on the nutrition, behavior and reproductive physiology of managed bees in response to environmental stressors. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing interdisciplinary projects investigating how diet quality, pesticide exposure, and environmental conditions influence the health and reproductive success of honey bees and solitary bees.
The successful candidate will play a central role in leading and coordinating experimental studies involving bee husbandry, controlled nutrition trials, pesticide treatments and toxicology, behavioral monitoring, and physiological assays, and will oversee data collection and analysis associated with project deliverables. The position will require the integration of experimental ecology, pollinator physiology and quantitative analysis to address questions related to pollinator health and environmental change.
The appointee will work closely with faculty, postdoctoral scholars and graduate students in the Boyle and Grozinger laboratories and across Penn State's Center for Pollinator Research. Responsibilities include leading day-to-day research operations, mentoring students and technicians, managing datasets, and preparing peer reviewed publications and reports.
