Job description

The position: We are looking for a data analyst to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who can conduct technical analysis of the performance of SHA's programs and processes. The person in this position will extract, analyze, and visualize data to support SHA strategy and decision-making.

They will be the team expert in knowing how to source, extract, and compile data in a user-friendly way in response to information requests from internal and external stakeholders. The data analyst will also conduct research and evaluation on a range of issues to inform the development and continuous improvement of policies, programs, and priorities across SHA. The Location: 101 Elliot Ave W, Seattle, WA 98119 The ideal candidate will have: Bachelor's degree in social science, microeconomics, statistics or a related field May substitute four additional years of relevant work experience in lieu of the degree May substitute master's degree in a related field in lieu of one year of work experience Experience in data analysis, information management, data science, or a related field, including: One year of SQL experience One year of data mining experience with a strong understanding of data flow structure One year of experience of developing reports, visualizations, and recommendations based on data analysis A track record of navigating complex organizations, developing trust among colleagues, and building relationships with diverse stakeholder groups A designation of I or II within the data analyst classification is dependent on years of experience and education as well as the scope, complexity, and impact of work assignments Level I: Two years of work experience Level II: Four years of work experience What will you do.

Serve as the key resource for cross-departmental and cross-sector data management, extraction, analytics, and utilization Help shape and inform internal and external data Develop expert level knowledge in data definitions and the nuances of when and how data is collected, input, and transformed Identify key takeaways and insights from data Support the continuous improvement of processes and documentation for collecting and coordinating data across SHA Identify and continuously improve original data and cross-departmental analytics Identify and test changes to SHA's data warehouse and create and maintain metadata and documentation Create accessible, audience-tailored dashboards and reports For additional information on the job, please see the full job description.
