Job description

MicroHealth is seeking an experienced Information Technology (IT) Specialist to support application development, modernization, and sustainment activities across enterprise software solutions for a federal healthcare client. This remote position requires a skilled professional with extensive experience in enterprise software development within Agile environments, including web application development, software engineering principles, system integration, and application lifecycle management.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The IT Specialist will support Scrum team activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, software development, testing, implementation, and defect resolution for enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will utilize SAFe Agile best practices, techniques, and concepts to support the maintenance, enhancement, and administration of enterprise applications while contributing to continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), test-driven development, automation, and system functional and architectural improvements. This role requires collaboration with Product Owners, business stakeholders, developers, testers, and technical teams to deliver secure, reliable, and high-quality technology solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the design, development, enhancement, testing, deployment, and sustainment of enterprise software applications using Agile and SAFe methodologies
  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, reliable, and high-quality software solutions that meet business and technical requirements
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot web applications, APIs, and enterprise software solutions using Microsoft .NET technologies and modern software engineering practices
  • Develop and maintain application functionality using C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core, Blazor, Razor Pages, Web Forms, MVC Framework, Entity Framework, and Entity Framework Core
  • Develop and maintain user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript while ensuring compliance with accessibility and usability standards
  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and SOAP web services to support system integration and interoperability across enterprise applications
  • Develop, validate, and exchange structured data using JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) and Extensible Markup Language (XML)
  • Create, optimize, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases, stored procedures, queries, and Transact-SQL scripts using SQL Server Management Studio
  • Utilize Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Git, GitHub, GitHub Desktop, and Jira to support source code management, version control, work item tracking, and collaborative software development
  • Support Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines by implementing automated build, testing, deployment, and release management processes
  • Utilize PowerShell and other scripting technologies to automate system administration, application deployment, and operational tasks
  • Perform static and dynamic code analysis using security scanning tools such as Micro Focus Fortify and CodeQL to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with secure coding standards
  • Develop and execute automated unit tests using Microsoft Unit Test Framework, NUnit, xUnit, or comparable testing frameworks to improve software quality and reliability
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve application defects, production issues, and performance concerns while collaborating with developers, testers, Product Owners, and technical stakeholders
  • Support software modernization initiatives by implementing best practices for application architecture, automation, system performance, and maintainability
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, system design artifacts, configuration documentation, and development standards to support ongoing application maintenance and knowledge sharing

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field required
Experience:
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant professional experience in software development and enterprise application support
  • Experience with Jira or a comparable Agile requirements/development management tool
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft .NET technologies (C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core, Blazor, Razor Pages, Web Forms, MVC Framework)
  • Experience with Entity Framework and Entity Framework Core
  • Strong knowledge of web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, and SQL Server Management Studio
  • Experience with RESTful and SOAP web services development
  • Proficiency with JSON and XML data formats
  • Experience with Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Git, GitHub, and GitHub Desktop
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
  • Experience with security scanning tools (Micro Focus Fortify, CodeQL)

  • Experience supporting financial or accounting systems
Salary: $95,000-$100,000
