This full-time remote position is centered on providing specialized care to trauma injury patients in our Germantown, Maryland outpatient office. Work Environment

Our team operates within a flexible remote setting, ensuring that our counselors can manage their schedules effectively while meeting the needs of their patients. Although the position allows for remote work, you will primarily be interacting with patients who visit our outpatient office. Regular work hours are structured from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, allowing for a work-life balance while fulfilling your responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough initial evaluations to assess the mental and emotional needs of patients presenting with trauma-related issues.
• Develop personalized treatment plans that address the unique challenges each patient faces and utilize evidence-based strategies to promote recovery.
• Engage with patients through active listening, providing a safe environment to discuss their challenges and aspirations.
• Educate patients and their families about trauma coping mechanisms and strategies to manage stress effectively.
• Monitor patient progress diligently and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Act as a coordinator with medical professionals, behavioral health providers, and community resources, facilitating access to comprehensive care for our patients.
• Participate in ongoing training and continuing education to retain your National Certified Counselor certification and to stay informed on the latest advancements in mental health counseling.
• Utilize tools such as Salesforce and EMR systems to document patient interactions, treatment progress, and outcomes efficiently.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on adults and adolescents experiencing the aftermath of trauma, including but not limited to physical injuries, emotional distress, and related mental health challenges. Our holistic approach ensures that each individual receives the tailored support they need to reclaim their lives and achieve their personal goals, thereby reinforcing their emotional resilience.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) certification is required.
• A minimum of three years of direct experience working with trauma patients, demonstrating an understanding of trauma-informed care.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential for documentation and communication.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective patient engagement and collaboration with colleagues.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience utilizing Salesforce and EMR systems for patient management and record-keeping will be considered a significant advantage.
• Additional certifications in trauma-informed counseling or related specialties are greatly valued.
