OVERVIEW:
The I&C Programmer II is responsible for utilizing and programing PLC control systems, SCADA Systems, and Human Machine Interface software to effectively design and implement instrumentation and control systems for water/wastewater projects. The I&C Programmer II works closely with Project Managers, the project team, and clients to implement solutions.

DURING YOUR WORKDAY, YOU WILL:

  • Utilize and program PLC control systems, SCADA Systems, and Human Machine Interface software to effectively design and implement instrumentation and control systems for water/wastewater projects.
  • Review specifications and drawings, write control system descriptions, and perform start up and commissioning activities with minimal input from other personnel.
  • Understand and implement communications systems such as Ethernet based local area networks and wireless radio systems.
  • Create instrument material take-offs from drawings.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, project team, and clients to implement solutions.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of related experience with PLC and SCADA software, networking, and system commissioning.
  • Proficient troubleshooting problems in operational situations is preferred.
  • Proficient with system networking, I&C Drawings (loops, cabinet layout/wiring) and P&ID drawings.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
  • The ability to balance multiple work assignments on multiple projects at the same time is required.
  • The ability to work alone but also effectively as part of a team is required.
  • Requires process-oriented thinking with strong organizational and technical skills.
  • Requires maintaining a level of precision and accuracy appropriate to the project demands.
  • Requires excellent communication, and the ability to take and understand directives from Project Managers, Contractors, and Regulators.
  • The ability to complete work consistently, with moderate flexibility to accommodate varying project demands is required.
  • Candidates are required to have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record as determined by McKim & Creed.
  • Candidates are required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
