Job description

We are looking for a Public Relations Specialist II to join our Digital PR Team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Public Relations, the Public Relations Specialist II executes data-driven PR campaigns to power the success of BOLD's multiple B2C brands in the US and internationally. This role requires experience working with reporters to secure press coverage on behalf of companies, as well as a deep understanding of the US media landscape, PR trends and best practices.

ABOUT THIS TEAM
Sitting in our Marketing Department, the Digital PR team works to raise brand awareness of BOLD brands in the media. We collaborate with top-notch social media, content, and SEO teams to amplify our brands' online public presence through earned media in the US and globally.

WHAT YOU'LL DO 

  • Working closely with the Sr. Director of Public Relations and Sr. Manager of Public Relations, support the health and performance of BOLD's overall PR program
  • Be responsible for directing the PR content calendar for specific brands, focusing specifically on growing brands' earned media wins
  • Write, edit, and pitch press releases and other content to external audiences, ghostwriting for spokesperson when necessary 
  • Develop and foster relationships with key reporters to support earned media coverage, responding to inbound press inquiries and helping coordinate media interviews as needed
  • Build BOLD brands' reputations as critical players in the resume and career advice space
  • Collaborate across PR, content, social media, and career experts  in order to generate ideas and identify opportunities to innovate and better engage with target audiences 
  • Help draft internally-run surveys, and then analyze and share findings with the press

WHAT YOU'LL NEED 

  • Bachelor's degree in English, communications, public relations or related field
  • 5+ years of media relations experience, with a history of pitching content to the press and working with reporters
  • A strong track record of pitching and securing press coverage
  • Experience translating data from surveys into meaningful insights for external audiences
  • Knowledge of CISION or other PR software platforms 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

WHAT'S GOOD TO HAVE

  • Background working at a PR agency 
  • Existing relationships with reporters at national publications and top online outlets with business and career focuses such as CNBC, Forbes, WSJ, NYT, Business Insider, etc.
  • An understanding of job search, career, and job market-related trends and issues
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices
  • Experience running internal surveys to collect, analyze, and report on data
