Graphic Designer & Web Manager
Department: Marketing & Communications
Reports to: Executive Director of Marketing, Communications & Engagement
Location: Remote - US
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $85,000-90,000/year
Position Overview
Minerva University is seeking a versatile and highly skilled Graphic Designer & Web Manager to support the university's visual brand across print, digital, and web channels.
At its core, this is a hands-on graphic design role responsible for creating high-quality materials for Marketing & Communications and departments across the university. The role will manage a wide range of internal creative requests, from brochures, flyers, presentations, and event collateral to digital graphics and institutional materials, while ensuring consistent application of Minerva's visual identity and brand standards.
The position will also play a significant role in maintaining and improving the Minerva University website using Webflow and will provide video editing and digital creative support as needed.
The ideal candidate is an experienced designer who is equally comfortable developing a polished print piece, building or updating a webpage, editing a short video, and helping colleagues translate their ideas into effective, on-brand creative.
Key Responsibilities
Graphic Design & Internal Creative Support - 45%
  • Design high-quality print and digital materials, including brochures, flyers, one-pagers, presentations, reports, event collateral, signage, advertisements, institutional materials, and other branded assets.
  • Fulfill creative requests from departments across the university, translating stakeholder needs into effective visual solutions.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting established deadlines.
  • Create and maintain reusable templates for presentations, documents, events, and other recurring university needs.
  • Prepare production-ready files and coordinate with printers and other vendors when necessary.
  • Provide graphics and other creative assets to support social media, enrollment marketing, institutional communications, events, and digital campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Minerva's Social Media Manager to create graphics and visual assets for social channels as needed.

Website Design & Webflow Management - 30%
  • Maintain and update the Minerva University website using Webflow.
  • Build and update webpages and page components within Minerva's established design system.
  • Make design and layout improvements that enhance usability, readability, and the overall user experience.
  • Work with stakeholders across the university to ensure academic, admissions, programmatic, and institutional information remains accurate and current.
  • Optimize images and other visual assets for web performance and accessibility.
  • Support ongoing website quality assurance, including identifying and correcting visual inconsistencies, broken elements, and formatting issues.
  • Assist with basic SEO implementation and website optimization.
  • Help evolve the website as Minerva's programs, content, and marketing needs change.

Brand Management & Visual Standards - 15%
  • Serve as a day-to-day steward of Minerva's visual identity and ensure consistent application of brand standards across university materials.
  • Review creative materials and provide guidance to colleagues to ensure appropriate use of Minerva's logos, typography, colors, imagery, and other visual elements.
  • Maintain and organize brand assets, templates, and creative resources.
  • Develop new templates, tools, and guidelines that enable teams across the university to create consistent, on-brand materials.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen and evolve Minerva's visual identity while maintaining overall brand consistency.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external creative partners to ensure work meets Minerva's brand and quality standards.

Video & Multimedia - 10%
  • Edit short-form and promotional video content for digital campaigns, the website, social media, events, and other university needs.
  • Transform existing footage, photography, graphics, and other assets into polished video content.
  • Incorporate graphics, titles, captions, music, and other elements as appropriate.
  • Resize and adapt video content for different platforms and formats.
  • Provide multimedia support for enrollment, institutional, and storytelling initiatives as needed.

Requirements
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in graphic design, visual communication, digital design, or a related field.
  • Professional graphic design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating print, digital, and brand work.
  • Advanced proficiency in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, visual hierarchy, composition, and brand systems.
  • Experience designing for both print and digital environments.
  • Experience maintaining websites using Webflow or a comparable CMS/web design platform.
  • Experience with video editing using Adobe Premiere Pro or comparable software.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining brand consistency.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple requests and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working with non-designers and translating stakeholder needs into creative solutions.

Preferred
  • Advanced experience with Webflow, including page building and responsive design.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Experience with UX/UI and responsive web design principles.
  • Experience with motion graphics or animation.
  • Experience developing and maintaining organizational brand guidelines and template systems.
  • Familiarity with Canva and creating templates for use by non-designers.
  • Understanding of SEO, website accessibility, and web optimization.
  • Experience designing for enrollment, higher education, or other mission-driven organizations.

What Success Looks Like
The successful candidate will become a trusted creative resource across Minerva, producing high-quality work while helping ensure that the university presents a consistent and distinctive visual identity across every touchpoint.
They will be a designer first, but with the digital skills and versatility to manage substantial website work, provide video support, and help colleagues across the university turn their needs into polished, effective creative.
