What is a remote planner?

A Remote Planner is a professional who coordinates, organizes, and manages planning tasks from a remote location, rather than working on-site. This role can include event planning, project management, or logistical coordination, depending on the industry. Remote Planners use digital tools to communicate, schedule, and track progress, ensuring that projects or events run smoothly without being physically present. Their responsibilities often require excellent communication skills, organization, and proficiency with virtual collaboration platforms.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote planner?

To thrive as a Remote Planner, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience with project or event planning, often supported by a relevant degree or certification. Familiarity with digital collaboration tools like Trello, Asana, or Microsoft Teams, as well as scheduling and workflow management systems, is typically required. Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities help you coordinate effectively with remote teams and clients. These competencies ensure smooth planning, efficient execution, and successful outcomes in a virtual work environment.

How do remote planners effectively collaborate with on-site teams and clients across different time zones?

Remote Planners often work with geographically dispersed teams and clients, which requires strong communication and organizational skills. They typically rely on digital collaboration tools such as project management software, video conferencing, and shared document platforms to keep everyone aligned. Scheduling regular check-ins and maintaining clear documentation are essential for overcoming the challenges of different time zones and ensuring that all stakeholders remain informed and engaged. Building strong virtual relationships and proactively addressing potential misunderstandings can significantly enhance teamwork and project outcomes.

United Placement Group

Auburn, ME โ€ข On-site, Remote

Contractor

Re-posted 4 days ago

Job description

Most estate planning attorneys lose 40-60% of their time to non-billable work-marketing, intake, scheduling, and paperwork.

In this role, you meet only with prepared, pre-qualified clients, while our team handles everything before and after the consultation so you can focus on high-value legal work.

What you'll do

  • Provide estate planning, asset protection, Medicaid/special needs planning, and business formation services.
  • Review pre-collected intake documents and conduct thorough client meetings.
  • Deliver practical, personalized legal strategies supported by a dedicated back-office team.

Requirements

Ideal attorney
  • Active Maine bar license in good standing.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
  • 3+ years of estate planning experience, including Medicaid asset protection.
  • Comfortable managing legal matters independently and conducting virtual client consultations.
  • Multi-state bar licensure preferred.
  • Tax planning, business formation, and special needs planning experience are a plus.
  • Experience handling sensitive family or Medicaid planning conversations with clients is a plus.
  • Experience advising small-business owners on formation matters is a plus.
  • An LL.M. in estate planning or tax is a plus.

Benefits

Why attorneys partner with us
  • No marketing-ever; we handle all client acquisition, intake, and scheduling.
  • Turnkey back office that dramatically cuts non-billable time.
  • Ready-to-engage clients who have completed intake and are prepared to move forward.
  • Flexible, remote work that fits around your existing practice and caseload.
