A Remote Plan Review is the process of evaluating and approving construction, architectural, or engineering plans without requiring in-person meetings. Instead, digital documents are submitted and reviewed electronically by qualified professionals, usually through specialized software platforms. This approach improves efficiency, allows for greater flexibility, and often speeds up the permitting or compliance process. Remote plan reviews are commonly used by building departments, architects, and engineers to facilitate project approvals while reducing the need for physical paperwork.
