Description
This position 10.5 month assists the Undergraduate Admissions Office in its efforts to attract, recruit and enroll students to St. Bonaventure University. Several of the chief tasks include creating a regional travel schedule, traveling to high schools and college fairs in an assigned travel region, tracking application materials, corresponding with and interviewing prospective students and their families virtually and in-person, building and strengthening relationships with prospective students and the school counseling community, assisting with special events, and maintaining various professional networking relationships and completing projects as assigned or performing general office duties.
This position is fully remote; however, candidates must currently reside in the New York City metropolitan area. The role is specifically focused on supporting recruitment and relationship-building efforts within the NYC market, making familiarity with the region, its schools, communities, and student populations essential. The salary range for this position reflects New York City compensation requirements and market conditions and has been established accordingly.
Examples of Duties
Works and interfaces with prospective students and their families at college fairs and consortiums and high school visits, via phone, text, email and written communication; and during on-campus interviews, or at Open Houses and other admissions events, encouraging their interest when appropriate, and counseling students about other alternatives.
Manages and supports their specific recruiting territory and special admit populations and/or campaigns for prospective students; is responsible for maintaining contact with a variety of constituencies in those areas, such as alumni, prospective students and their parents and school counselors.
Process, review and decision Admissions applications, including the calculation of GPA and makes recommendations and/or decisions on applications for admission in conjunction with other counselors and the AVP/Director of Admissions.
Implements best practices of university admissions, managing contact information as well as high school, university and counselor information toward the goal of achieving budget and stretch goals in their assigned territories.
Supports and participates in visits, special events and programs - on and off campus - assisting with planning and coordination besides attending events.
May have specific responsibilities for office operations/coordination including: supervision of admissions ambassadors, tele-recruiters on the Recruitment Response Team; conducting necessary research for recruitment trends and policies. Provide data collection, statistics, prepare reports and maintain information related to regional territory. Attend professional development workshops or conferences relating to admission.
Carries out any and all projects and responsibilities as assigned by the AVP/Director of Admissions.

Typical Qualifications
A bachelor's degree is required.
Previous work experience in an admissions office (student ambassador), student service area and/or similar environment preferred, but not required.
