The Job

The Studio Photographer role is responsible for working with evo's photo studio team to create studio product photography and support general product photography for evo. 


In this role, you will report to the Studio Manager and work closely with the photo team to deliver high-quality product content to elevate the customer shopping experience across evo.com and other marketing channels. You will be responsible for working with the digital content team to create product photography for evo's product detail pages, including all studio product photos for evo's vertical brands. This role includes supporting digital asset management through sourcing, editing, and processing vendor images for evo's wide assortment of outdoor products. Improving our work processes is also a core part of the job, including identifying and communicating opportunities to optimize production and improve quality with a customer-first mentality. 


Success in this role will be measured by studio product photography technique, creative problem-solving, organizational skills, time management, prioritization, resourcefulness, communication skills, and a proactive planning mindset. 

This position is located at evo's distribution center in Sumner, WA, with occasional travel to the headquarters in Seattle, WA for meetings and other requirements. Depending on workload and team needs, there may be flexibility for some remote work.

The Opportunity

  • Photograph product in studio and seasonal on-model shoots for product detail pages on evo.com, including image selection and organization of final images 
  • Support digital asset management by sourcing and editing vendor image assets for upload to Product Information Management (PIM)
  • Assist in pre-production of shoots for studio, vertical brands, and marketing projects 
  • Photograph product-related marketing content for the evo ecosystem and experiences both in the US and internationally 
  • Maintain and update process documentation, style guides, and set diagrams 
  • Communicate and coordinate cross-department with evo's vertical brands, warehouse, merchandising, design, marketing, customer care, and other teams to create and deliver on-brand studio product content that elevates the customer experience 
  • Willingness to cross-train on certain duties of our stylist, editor, and studio coordinator, and fill in when needed 
  • Potential for some outdoor or on mountain/location photography 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

The Must Haves

  • An online portfolio demonstrating both creative and technical ability to produce and shoot e-commerce product content is required - a video portfolio/reel is a plus, but not necessary 
  • 3+ years of experience in an e-commerce photo studio 
  • Strong initiative and flexibility to self-produce shoots, including planning, communicating, executing, and delivering, as well as directing models, working with a stylist, and maintaining consistency across a full shoot day 
  • Equipment knowledge: Canon cameras/lenses, Profoto lighting (monolights and power packs), knowledge of videography is appreciated, but not required 
  • Digital workflow experience: MacOS, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Bridge; Premiere is a plus), Capture One, Bynder (and other DAMs), Google Workspace, Microsoft 365;  with a strong eye for color, and familiarity with color calibration management tools  
  • Sustained attention to detail during high-volume production 
  • Comfort independently assessing, seeking input, and effectively communicating in group settings 
  • Ability to perform under pressure and ambiguity to meet deadlines and deliver precise results while managing concurrent tasks and projects 
  • A passion for and participation in the sports we promote is appreciated
